Aditee thank u, tu sau saal jeeye aur hum sabko aise hi aasmaan ka safar karwati rahe!!
U know its such a common place scene, it happens in almost all middle class family before a long trip. Arrangements, eating & then cleaning & putting things away, sorting out money & stuff necessary for the trip, getting the luggage ready & getting them all set by the door...& yet there is an undercurrent in the air. A prospective groom watching every moves of his would-be & she is aware too, highly, but none of them will show it nor will make it obvious to others. U r amazing!
The kitchen interaction was sweet, it was melifluous! His concern for her always tops his chart & like always it floors me!
Ok certain points stood out for me. I was amazed that Khanak didn't hesitate to discuss about financial matters in front of Shaan, as if she wanted him to see & realise her responsibilities, her ways of life with her family & friend. Kind of it will be the same in future as well even when I am Khanak Gujral.
Shaan uncomfortable seeing the interaction between 2 close friends. Also 2 other times I saw Shaan out of his comfort zone, when he thought he is in the way between Kaki & Khanak & came back to the sofa & the other time when Mitali came & was gushing. He never had this type of interaction even with his own family, so it was a 1st time for him. He got a taste of her family & their ways. I am sure he will be prepared in future but here he was a little uneasy.
As I said before I love the equation between Ritu & Khanak, this is what best friends r like, they stick by in all thick & thin. She never takes money from Shaan but she did from Ritu, important point again. She feels the self-respect kicking in there with Shaan. Maybe the equation will change after marriage with passage of time but for now it stood out.
And She is looking forward to his being there early in Ahmedabad, she was surprised when he said he won't be there for sangeet! Hah! He should be elated to see her reaction & I am sure he caught that.
He didn't even drink the water after seeing she is looking at Sooraj's picture. It unnerves him to that extent! He knows what & how she feels about him. That one gesture does it for him. But he won't show anything to her & will walk away in silence respecting that.
What I want to know is did Khanak take the picture with her to Ahmedabad or did she leave it behind? Do tell me that. It will say a lot. If it is there she is leaving her past behind secured & locked up as a cherished treasure & if she takes it with her then she will need some time to put it all behind her to accept the new relationship. Its not that she hasn't accepted Shaan, she has because she too is immensely attracted by him & loved his pursuing her endlessly but accepting wholeheartedly in her heart, soul & body, that will take a little more time. Lets just put it this way the pact after their marriage will stand for a little while longer in this case if Sooraj is with her. Again I am not saying she has to forget that phase of her life, no absolutely not, but it shouldn't be in the way either of this marriage.
But I maybe wrong, my gut feeling says she will leave the picture behind just like she is leaving her flat, her window, her kitchen, her neighbors, her memories of single-hood days behind her to engulf a new era in her life. It will be like how she is leaving her sketching equipment behind thinking she might need it after 6 months, similarly Sooraj's picture belong to that precious category which she is leaving behind temporarily thinking she will have it when she will return after 6 months or so. But will see how u put it across.
And later in future it will be Shaan who will bring that picture to her when she will submit her entire existence to & on him & when he will be absolutely secure about her & her feelings.
Fabulous, the connotations & those little touches, those subtle implications all throughout made this update special.
As I said, its my lifeline now, so keep going with it. Thanks once again.
