Dear Diary,
Anu span the bottle. It pointed towards Arjun. I had to give the dare.
Me: Hmmm. You have to sing for Arohi.
Everyone applauded as Arjun started.
Arjun: Ni gaddi sadi beja ni jattiye,
Ni door tenu lehja, we arriye
Ni woofer tu meri,meri
Mein tera amplifier, fier We all put our fingers in our ears.
Still, everyone clapped. The game went on. Suddenly, the bottle pointed to me.
Arohi: Truth or Dare?
Me: Truth.
Arohi: Who do you love?
I glanced at Anu.
Me: I mean dare!!!
Arohi: Hmm. Taani you can sing and say who you would date for us.
Me: But that's not fair. I got two dares.
Arohi didn't care and pulled Taani into the middle.
I sang my fave song 'Tere Liye (Serial)'. Now was the time for the second dare!
Me: Ermmm, I would date...
I kept glancing at Anu.
Me: Shah Rukh Khan!!!
Everyone groaned as I sat down and smiled. Phew!!! 😊
Next Arohi came up and danced to 'Sheila Ki Jawani'!!!
It was the final turn and it had landed on Anu.
Arjun: Truth or Dare?
Anu: Truth.
Arjun: Anurag Ganguly, you have to say the one you love. Even if she isn't here, you still have to say who you love and propose to them.
Anu: Well, the person is right here so that'll be quite easy.
He looked at me. Anu walked up to me.He took my hand as I stood up. Anurag knelt to the ground.
Anu: Taani, you may think it's a lie, but from the past few days I have been starting to like you. Our friendship grew so strong that it went onto the next stage. I wanted to say that I love you. Well I don't have a ring now, but will you marry me?
I didn't know what to say. Everyone was staring at us.
Me: Anu...
He waited for my answer.
Me: Yes I will. I love you too. ☺️
He got up and hugged me.
One by one, everyone came up to us.
Arjun: Di, I knew from the day you came back from the concert. I wanted to see if Anu felt the same way for you.
Arohi punched Anu in the arm.
Arohi: I thought you were my friend, why did you hide it from me?
Anu: Well I would have told you if you would move away from Arjun. 😛
Arohi smiled and hugged me.
Arjun: Our group is finally complete!
Hand in hand, Anu and me walked to our rooms.
I finally woke up after such a lovely day. It was one of the best days in my life! When I had come out of the shower, I saw Anu reading a book. Then I realised that it was my diary.
Me: Oye, why looking in my diary?
Anu: I am your boyfriend and we share everything. So you loved me from when I dropped you home after the concert?
Me: No...😳
I went to the dressing table and pulled my hair towel out. I put my hair up and got my bag.
Me: Let's go.
I was just about to go when Anu pulled me. he put my hands around his shoulders and pulled my hair band out.
Me: Anu what are you doing?
Anu put a finger on my lips.
Anu: You look better with your hair out.
He pulled me closer to him. We were 10mm apart, our lips nearly touching. He was just about to kiss me when we heard a knock. We turned towards the window. Arohi and Arjun were laughing at us. 😆
Arjun shouted: If you have finished kissing, shall we go?
I blushed like a beetroot, redder than ever. ☺️
Anu picked me up in his arms and we went outside.
We reached outside.
Arjun and Arohi were still laughing.
Anu: Woh, we are going.
Arjun: Where?
Anu: Home.
Arohi: By yourselves?
Anu: Yeah.
Me: But Anu...
He shook his head.
Arjun: Theek hai. Romance as much as you want jiju!!!
Anu slapped him on the arms as we ran to get a taxi.
We couldn't find a single car. He stopped an Indian truck as we jumped on.
The journey took forever. After 2 hours, we reached Mumbai.
Anu: Let's go.
He was heading to the shops. I followed him.
Anu: Bhaisaab, can you get the ring that I had ordered by phone?
The shopkeeper went to find the ring.
Shopkeeper: Here, 10,000 rupees.
Anurag paid the shopkeeper and opened the box.
Anu: Look at this.
I opened the lid and was so delighted. It was a ring and in the middle was the letters, T and A.
Me: Who's this for?
Anu: Duffer, tere liye.
I knew it was for me, but just wanted to clarify it.
I hugged him.
Me: You didn't need to do this. It's too expensive.
Anu: Taani. Stop worrying. I want my mum to meet her would-be daughter-in-law.
We went to the Ganguly house.
Nupur opened the door.
Nupur: Anu, our marriage has been fixed.
I was shocked. 😲
