If he wants to buy her expensive bags, and she's happy to receive them, then thats their business. Im sure she can afford to buy them herself anyway, doesn't she own a Birkin?? Now they're expensive!!!

Nothing wrong with buying designer pieces if you can afford them. In my opinion it becomes tacky, when people buy them just for the logo (those canvas LV and Gucci's!).

But alot of the accessories and clothes are very well made and can last a life time...better fit sometimes as well.
