More Klaus and Elena's Head Trauma! 5 Teases for The Vampire Diaries Season Finale

Elena's world is about to be turned upside down on The Vampire Diaries Season 3 finale.

In last week's episode, Alaric, who's on the loose, revealed to the Council that Mayor Lockwood and Sheriff Forbes' kids are supernatural beings. And while Elena was finally safe from Klaus' capture (oh, and the Original has been desiccated), the hour ended with her mysteriously falling to the floor with blood dripping from her nose. On Thursday's season finale, Elena's faint state will cause her to flash back to somewhat happier times, but when she's snapped back to present day, things ultimately take an extreme turn.

Check out our five biggest teases for "The Departed:"

1. Elena's head problems are only just beginning.
While Elena appears to recover from her mysterious fainting spell, her injuries are far worse than her doctor lets on. If she only knew that the result of her treatment will affect her for the rest of her life.

2. We will see Klaus again.
There's no way that getting rid of Klaus would be so simple, especially when the boys are called back to town so soon after taking off with his body. Immediately following the events,
we'll see what Klaus has become, and Bonnie, who could use some major closure, will get some alone time to say her piece.

3. Elena's and Matt's accidents will look familiar.
The
flashback of the Gilbert family accident and Matt and Elena's upcoming crash will intertwine in a way that illustrates just how similar the two life-altering events are. But more importantly, in the current one, Elena's actions during the accident will have deadly consequences.

4. A rival will come out of left field.
One of the group's very own will make an unforeseen turn to the darker side - but it won't be without a major reason, perhaps having to do with their love for someone else. And the scene in question involves two characters who have never shared a one-on-one scene together.

5. You'll cry.
The end
of Season 2 made your jaw drop (Stefan becomes a ripper! Jeremy can see dead people?!), but this time around, you'll be crying. Not only will the final scene leave you gasping for air (shocking, we know), but the moments leading up to those last seconds are heartbreaking..

'The Vampire Diaries' finale: Nina Dobrev describes the moment Elena chooses between Stefan and Damon

"Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev has been on quite the whirlwind this spring -- just this week, she met fans in Barcelona, dazzled in NYC at the Met Ball, and flew to Los Angeles to appear on "Conan."

Luckily,  she wasn't too busy to give a bit of scoop on this Thursday's big Season 3 finale, in which Elena will finally choose between Stefan and Damon. It's not a decision that she comes by easily, of course --
each brother has his faults -- but in a moment of personal reflection, Elena will realize that there's one Salvatore she just can't live without.

Of course, if we told you which brother she chooses, we'd probably be tossed into one of Klaus's creepy coffins for all of eternity, so our lips are zipped. Nina did tell us a bit about Elena's headspace going into the life-changing decision, though.

"Because of the circumstances, one of the Salvatores does leave town," Nina says. Don't worry - the guy who hits the road isn't out of the running. "When Elena does make the decision, she's alone. She's not with either brother. She's taken away from that element of temptation, and away from the pressure, and she's not forced to make an impulsive decision because they're both standing in front of her."

Fans can trust that the decision Elena makes is one that's well thought-out and solid, based on what she really wants, and not on what she thinks is best for anyone else. "Because she's by herself, she can make the decision without being swayed by one or the other," Nina explains.

We're just relieved that she's finally making a choice after a season of wavering. Though we were getting a little bit tired of Elena insisting that she didn't know what her feelings were, Nina says that it was important for Elena to go through this season without a boyfriend.

"The girl had to explore her options and figure out what she wanted!" she laughs. "Before this year hadn't been with Damon, she hadn't really tried that. She was just tempted by him and enticed by him. Now, she's seen both sides, and she can make an educated decision. I think every girl needs to do that. You have to date around before you settle down, because if you don't, you'll always be wondering if you made the right choice."

As Elena looks toward her future with one of the Salvatores, she'll also take some time to reflect back on her past. Nina embraced the opportunity to play pre-vampire Elena as a cheerleader with regular, teenage problems.

"We never get to see happy Elena before the vampires came into her life," Nina says. "Everything was simple, but simple is good, and especially recently she's been wanting things to go back to the way they were. She was a normal girl. Her problems were that she failed a class or Matt didn't get her the right flowers. Simple things. We get to see Elena with her mom, with her aunt, with her dad. We see her dynamic with Bonnie before they knew she was a witch and her relationship with Matt when they were together. It's really cool."

Nina's favorite thing about the flashback sequences was
welcoming her close friend Sara Canning back to set after she'd been gone for a year. "It was so nice. She was my roommate and my really close friend, and I hadn't seen her in so long because she lives in Vancouver now," Nina says. "She's such a talented actress. It's crazy. Even just in this one episode, she shines so bright. She truly lights up the screen."

Should Elena choose Damon or Stefan in the Season 3 finale?

Why Elena should choose Damon: It's hard to deny that Damon has been a source of emotional support for Elena through what was arguably her most traumatic year yet. Last summer, when Stefan left town, Damon was there for her to rely on while she angsted over Stefan's absence. He was arguably her best friend this year, despite a few setbacks. The passion between them is undeniable (in addition to that motel kiss... even the chaste hand-holding beforehand was hot).

There's also the curiosity factor -- we, as an audience, haven't had the chance to see Damon and Elena as a couple, and we're interested to see how it plays out. Elena's main reason for not choosing Damon is his tendency to lash out and vamp out when things don't go his way, but he's kept his killer urges under control these days. In fact, she still doesn't know that when she thought he was behaving badly at the Original Ball, he was actually saving Matt from a bone-crushing end. He even saved Bonnie's life last week, despite believing she screwed up their plan to let Alaric go. He's changing!

Right now, Damon and Elena can relate to each other more than ever, because they're both grieving the loss of "real" Alaric. If there's anyone she can talk to about that tragedy, it's him. Plus, after their building tension and her obvious reciprocation of his feelings this season, would it even be believable for her to set that aside and ignore it? Haven't we seen enough of the Elena-is-in-denial story for a lifetime?

Why Elena should not choose Damon: We know it's practically old news at this point, but the guy did snap her little brother's neck. If she decides he's her happily-ever-after, what impression will that give Jeremy? Damon's list of indiscretions is long and storied -- from his Season 1 abuse of Caroline and his treatment of Vicki to his much more recent creepy dalliances with Rebekah. Though she's clearly forgiven him for his previous failings, forgiving someone is different from, you know, dating them.

From a storytelling standpoint, there's also some concern as to whether Elena and Damon will actually be interesting as a legitimate couple. Seeing them sharing milkshakes at the Grill and exchanging morning-breath kisses just doesn't seem like them, you know? If you eliminate the pining and the longing, the story could reach an unfortunate plateau.

Why Elena should choose Stefan: It's been a tough year, but now that Stefan has once again emerged from his Ripper fog, he's proven himself capable of being the stand-up man Elena fell in love with in Season 1. We've got to give him credit for not giving her an ultimatum -- in fact, his lack of questions about her trip to Denver with Damon shows a certain nobility and a respect for her decisions.

As Klaus made clear in "The Reckoning," the connection between Stefan and Elena is rare and powerful. He did fight compulsion for her, which means something in their supernatural world. There's also an argument to be made for the fact that Stefan hasn't so much as considered another woman (as anything other than a light snack) since he met Elena. She's still a teenager with normal human jealousies, so that carries considerable weight.

Stefan also impresses us with his compassion not only for Elena, but for the people who are important to her. He doesn't make fun of Jeremy or disregard the safety of Elena's friends, like Tyler. At the Decade Dance, he offered Bonnie a truly genuine apology for her unwilling involvement in their vampire drama. He's also shown regard for Caroline's pain, particularly last season. Elena has always taken her friends' opinions to heart, so their support for Stefan over Damon could be a powerful motivator.
Why Elena should not choose Stefan: It's hard to excuse the Wickery Bridge incident this year. Stefan forced Elena to revisit the scene of her darkest moment and even force-fed her his blood, threatening to turn her into a vampire -- all in the name of his quest for vengeance. Perhaps the most devastating thing about the ordeal was that he wasn't compelled or supernaturally swayed in any way; he was just being selfish.

Additionally, despite Stefan's general non-murderousness these days, it's impossible to ignore the potential for a Ripper relapse. He's spent the last century or more in a vicious cycle between slaughter and martyrdom, and there's no telling what might set him off next. Can Elena trust him not to lose control again for the rest of their lives together?

From an audience's point of view, revisiting the "Stelena"-centric story could possibly begin to feel repetitive. If she doesn't choose him, it may offer an opportunity for fresh stories -- for example, we're curious to see what Stefan might be like with a different love interest. We're also not sure if he'd really be able to forgive Elena her feelings for Damon if they did get back together. Wouldn't he always wonder if she was confident in her decision?

Vampire Diaries Star Teases Finale's Final Moments: "It's a Mindblow!"

Is Tyler (Michael Trevino) leaving Mystic Falls...again?!

It's no secret that The Vampire Diaries isn't afraid to send off its beloved characters, none more so than Tyler, the hybrid who seems to take an annual retreat away from Mystic Falls each season. But will Tyler be making his next exit from town a more permanent one? And will he be bringing girlfriend Caroline (Candice Accola) away with him?

We chatted with Trevino about Tyler's possible exit in The Vampire Diaries' highly anticipated finale and why the hour's final moments will make fans say "Holy s--t!" Plus, we find out if we'll be seeing the return of evil-jock Tyler in the finale's flashbacks.

Apologies to the fans who enjoyed the Tyler from season one (bully that he was), but Trevino says you won't be seeing Tyler in the flashbacks.

"No, Tyler is probably giving some nerd a wedgie in one of the hallways. He's probably stealing someone's food in the cafeteria, hitting on some girl, all while wearing his letterman jacket," he jokes. "He's just too busy doing douchebag kind of things! We only have 42 minutes to put in awesomeness in our finale, so there was no time for Tyler."

Fret not, Tyler fans! Just because he isn't part of the flashbacks doesn't mean he's absent from the present-day shenanigans, thanks to Alaric (Matt Davis) outing him as a hybrid and Caroline as a vampire to the council at the end of last week's episode.

"As far as Caroline and Tyler, it's a life-changing decision because they have been outed and everyone knows about them. You would think that Tyler would take a page out of the book he always goes to, which is maybe we should just leave town for a little bit!" Trevino teases. "I think it's them together this time, now that Klaus is completely gone, do they stay in Mystic Falls and ride it our or do they leave town for a while or do they leave town and not come back?" Mystic Falls without Caroline and Tyler? We shudder at the thought!

MORE: Glee Scoop: What's Ahead For the Final Three Episodes?

Vampire Diaries' season one finale was jam-packed with action and cliffhangers, while the season two ender carried more emotional weight. So what can fans expect from the season three finale: action or emotion?

"It's all of it," Trevino says. "It is emotional, there is a good amount off cliffhangers, but the way it ends, the last minute, it's just a mindblow! You're kind of wondering like, 'OK, maybe Klaus will be gone for a little bit because now we have to deal with all this. Now we have to deal with this problem.' It's big!"

When asked what the viewers' reaction will be at exactly 9 p.m. tomorrow, Trevino answers, "'Holy s--t!' The last minute is what everyone is going to be talking about, but then you have to remember the journey of all these other characters and their arcs in the finale. We have another person that leaves Mystic Falls for good, and then just the individual storylines on where this season leaves them and how we're even going to pick it up in the fourth season."

And yes, you should start preparing yourselves for a finale death: "Well, we have Klaus who is long gone now and then there is one person, one more person who's gone."

The Vampire Diaries finale airs tomorrow at 8 p.m. on the CW.

Warning! Big spoilers!

When you have three leads as integral (and attractive) as the ones on The Vampire Diaries, you don't really believe the executive producer when she teases that "no one is safe."  But with the Season 3 finale being described in epic turns, we can't help but wonder about Elena (Nina Dobrev), Damon (Ian Somerhalder), and Stefan (Paul Wesley).

Okay, we're actually only worried about Elena — especially with her recent head injury. TV Guide unleashed some mega spoilers about her wound and what it means for the doppelganger's future. According to the site, "her injuries are far worse than her doctor lets on. If she only knew that the result of her treatment will affect her for the rest of her life."

As we all know, Meredith (Torrey DeVitto) likes to inject anything without a pulse with vampire blood. Elena is also involved in a prettyhorrific car wreck at some point in the finale. No, not the flashback, the one with Matt (Zach Roerig). There's a possibility she won't make it out alive after plunging over Wickery Bridge for a second time. Veins pumping with vamp blood and death equals one thing: a set of fangs.

Yeah, we wondered if Elena would be sucking blood by the end of this season.

We're guessing this is the part where Elena senses impending doom?

Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) has some serious decision-making to do inThe Vampire Diaries Season 3 finale. The choice between Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is proving difficult for her — because, well, just look at them — but she knows that she can't keep stringing along both of the sexy vamps forever.

Reunited? Could it be?!?

The bad news? Whichever one she doesn't choose plans to jet outta townfor a few decades to give the couple some space. Thanks to TV Guide, we know that she will indeed share a smooch with at least one of the two in Thursday's episode, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's the one she'll ultimately pick.

Indicating a promo still of Stefan with his hands around Elena's face, TV Guide reports, "Elena shares a kiss with one of the boys… And yes, this photo is in the present."

So, it looks like even if Stefan isn't the chosen one, she'll give Team Stelena at least one more bit of lip service.

Is Thursday here yet?

Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is going through some stuff on The Vampire Diaries. His only bestie, Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic), turned out to be a double-agent vampire, and his ex Bonnie (Kat Graham) has moved on to a green-eyed dreamboat. Plus, he just came back from the dead and his guardian is a maniac. He seems to have had it up to his bloodshot eyeballs with all the supernatural business.

In the producer's preview video for the Season 3 finale, Jeremy has a little moment with Alaric (Matt Davis). The new vamp seems to be trying to bring Jer over to the dark side. "Find out where Klaus's body is being hidden. I'll kill him, all his siblings. And when I die, vampires will no longer exist," Ric tells him.

That has to feel like a pretty promising prospect to JerBer, but it all depends on whether there's a way to kill Alaric without harming Elena(Nina Dobrev). Ahem, magic department? Do you have anything like that? Steven R. McQueen told Young Hollywood Studios he'd like Jeremy to get more involved in vampire hunting in Season 4, so maybe this is his first step toward stake packing and crossbow toting?

Why so serious, Elena? Oh yeah... all those dramatic love triangles and life-threatening situations you get yourself into. We almost forgot.

Ding dong. That's destiny, darling. Two brothers with fangs and hopes and dreams are waiting for Elena (Nina Dobrev) to make a decision on The Vampire Diaries Season 3 finale. At this point, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) have both proven why dating a vampire is dangerous but also why they're so irresistible. Everyone from Caroline(Candice Accola) to Rose (Lauren Cohan) have weighed the pros and cons of each brother for her. In a new interview with Zap2It, Nina Dobrev explains the circumstances when Elena finally realizes who she really wants.

"When Elena does make the decision, she's alone," Nina says. "She's not with either brother. She's taken away from that element of temptation, and away from the pressure, and she's not forced to make an impulsive decision because they're both standing in front of her… Because she's by herself, she can make the decision without being swayed by one or the other."

Our apologies to any fans who jumped to conclusions upon learning thatElena and Stefan share a kiss in the episode!

Kat Graham Teases "Huge" Season Finale Death on The Vampire Diaries

You will lose your mind.

So Kat Graham just teased to me over the phone when asked about tomorrow night's season finale of The Vampire Diaries.

"There is a huge death," the star added. "I say that every season finale because… well, there is. Someone always kicks the bucket. But this is the biggest finale we've ever had. Seriously: it may not be filled with crazy stunts of burning buildings, but, in terms of storyline, it's the biggest finale we've ever had."

nd where exactly does Bonnie figure into "The Departed?"

Graham said she isn't sure if the writers plan to take her character down a dark path, a direction some viewers thought may have been teased by the heart-stopping spell she cast over Jeremy on "Before Sunset."

But she's open to it "as long as there's a balance, as long as it makes sense and feeds both the show and the storyline. I'm all about reason and there being a motive behind things."

We won't find out much in that regard tomorrow night - Graham does wonder whether dark magic could become some kind of "addiction" on season four - but we will see Bonnie arrive at a significant decision, one influenced by her lack of parental guidance, the actress previews.

"You'll see a side of Bonnie where she might have to pull herself up by her own bootstraps. She'll be making a deal that she might not have made if her relationships [were different.] It will be shaped by the experiences she's had."

Speaking of relationships… how could we not ask: Team Damon or Team Stefan? Elena will apparently decide for herself on the season finale. What advice would Bonnie give her pal?

"At one point she wanted Damon to get lost," Graham says. "And then she wanted Stefan to get lost because he went off the deep end… she's been working with Damon recently, so she might be leaning more toward him. She thinks she can rely on him now."

Tune in tomorrow night to see if Elena agrees - and look for Graham to release an EP this June, as the off-season allows this actress/singer to focus on her music career.
