Nina Dobrev Scuba Dives in a Behind the Scenes Photo for Vampire Diaries Season 3, Episode 22, "The Departed"

Is Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) starring in Waterworld II? Nope, thecertified scuba diver is just filming a scene for the Season 3 finale forVampire Diaries. In this behind-the-scenes photo for Episode 22, "The Departed," we get a sneak peek at what's coming up for Elena.

The Gilbert family... except for Jeremy.

So why did the star need to get into her wetsuit? The episode will flash back to the night when her parents died in a car crash on Wickery Bridge. Grayson and Miranda Gilbert will be played by James MacDonald and Erin Beute, and The CW posted a photo of the couple with their adoptive daughter. Poor Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) — always getting the shaft. We assume he's off doing the drugs and drawing dragons.

Stefan was also in Mystic Falls on the fateful night when Elena nearly died, and Paul Wesley also needed to suit up for the watery scene. Where's that picture, CW?

AlexJohnJohnson: Vampire Diaries, pretty pretty please?
How about some scoop on Klaus? Good? Good. The OG hybrid will have a "heroic moment" in Thursday's episode, but in a classic Klaus move, it'll be followed by "something so horrible, you're like, 'Man, what's wrong with you?!'" teases executive producer Julie Plec. "Klaus will never be a hero, but that's not to say he won't do heroic things." So what's Klaus' next move now that his mother has successfully created the ultimate vampire hunter? "This is a second call of arms to Klaus, who may have gotten distracted by pretty blondes and paintings and horses," Plec says. "This is the reminder that this guy means business, and he's not going to let his guard down again. It's a nice reboot of the villain." Hero and villain all wrapped in one devilishly handsome British hybrid? Only on TVD!

*WOW this seems interesting... Klaus doing something heroic?? Im intrigued!!*

Klaus in Season 3, Episode 21:

If you think you're leaving with Elena, you've got another thing comin', buddy.

We got a taste of the old Klaus (Joseph Morgan) in Vampire DiariesSeason 3, Episode 20, "Do Not Go Gentle" when he got pretty scary screaming at his mother's lifeless form. According to what executive producer Julie Plec told E!, Klaus is going to ratchet up his bad side — after first doing something heroic.

Immediately following what Plec calls Klaus's "heroic moment" in Season 3, Episode 21, "Before Sunset," the hybrid will do "something so horrible, you're like, 'Man, what's wrong with you,'" she says. Hm, we wonder if this good deed has anything to do with a certain blonde cheerleader he's been crushing on.

Unfortunately, it sounds like his pony drawing days are over. "Klaus will never be a hero, but that's not to say he won't do heroic things," says Plec. "This is a second call of arms to Klaus, who may have gotten distracted by pretty blondes and paintings and horses. This is the reminder that this guy means business, and he's not going to let his guard down again. It's a nice reboot of the villain."

The promo video shows Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) making a deal with the devilish hybrid, but it sounds like even with the temporary alliance, Klaus's wicked nature is going to ensure that the gang won't be inviting him for malts at the Mystic Grill anytime soon.

Elena Sets Up For the Dance in Season 3, Episode 20:
Photo Credit: Quantrell Colbert/The CW 2012 The CW Network
Photo:

Oh, you Mystic Falls kids just love your Decade Dances!

Team Delena. Team Stelena. Regardless of which side you come down on with that epic debate, hopefully we can all agree to be what Vampire Diaries executive producer calls "Team Salvatore." When she spoke to reporters recently at a screening of Season 3, Episode 20, "Do Not Go Gentle," she explained where the brothers are headed for the rest of the season, MTV reports.

"They will get stronger instead of weaker as brothers in spite of this looming conflict, this looming decision," said Plec. The executive producer has been saying Elena (Nina Dobrev) will make a choice between Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) in the Season 3 finale, but she allayed fears that it would put an end of the Salvatores' recent bonding. "There's a really nice scene in next week's episode that shows that they might just survive this no matter how it plays out, and that when all is said and done... 'bros before hos.' The clich is that the girl tears them apart, so how can we let the girl bring them even closer together?" Plec explained.

Julie's just setting herself up for threesome jokes, isn't she?

Zach Roerig as Matt
Photo Credit: Patrick Ecclesine/The CW 2010 The CW Network

Zach Roerig as Matt? Donovan on The CW's The Vampire Diaries.

There's a sizable portion of Vampire Diaries fans who want Elena (Nina Dobrev) to say "bye-bye" the Salvatore brothers and "hello, again" toMatt (Zach Roerig). After all, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) have both hurt her and killed lots of other people. But it turns out that even before Elena's parents died, it wasn't all Founder's Day parades and Mystic Grill dates for the golden couple.

The Season 3 finale will show scenes of Elena's life before the fateful car crash that killed her adoptive parents — including her relationship with Matt Donovan. "We get a nice little flash of when they were dating, that they were themselves a troubled relationship," executive producer Julie Plec told The Hollywood Reporter. "Even though she's remembering a simpler time, her problems were just as complicated."

The timing of the flashback is important — Elena is on the cusp of making a decision between Damon and Stefan. All along it seemed like Elena and Matt broke up because of her parents' deaths, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Maybe Matt couldn't understand her journaling habit or Elena couldn't deal with his agro friend Tyler (Michael Trevino) always hanging around?

Oh wow! Klaus is a hero now! Seriously, I feel like JP is forgetting Klaus is suppose to be one of the most baddest vampires out there. Instead she has turned the character into this wuss who gets in the middle of high school romance🤔…what a waste of good villain.

Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Will We See Katherine Before the End of Season 3?

about 2 hours ago by Jenny McGrathSPOILER ALERT!!
Katherine Is Miffed in Season 1, Episode 22: "Founder's Day"

It's unlikely Rebekah (Claire Holt) will be daggered for long — Klaus(Joseph Morgan) tends to like his baby sister's help in his plots. Yet The Vampire Diaries could always use more bad girls, which is whyKatherine's (Nina Dobrev) absence has been keenly felt since Season 3, Episode 9, "Homecoming." The doppelganger just dropped some vevain bombs, said, "ba-boom," and peaced out. It's about time for her to slink back into town, right?

Not so fast. Executive producer Julie Plec told reporters, "You will not see hide nor hair of Katherine until Klaus is gone for good. So his survival ties in to her appearance, or lack thereof," The TV Addictreports. Ah, those self-preservation instincts.

Plec also teased that Kat's existence means not even Elena (Nina Dobrev) is safe when it comes to deaths in the Season 3 finale. "I mean, she's got a Katherine. She's got god knows how many doppelgangers are out there," she pointed out.
