Get your cloche hats and aigrettes ready because The Vampire Diaries is once again travelling back in time via a decade dance. While we were hoping the decade would be the '90s and everyone would trade their henleys for flannels, we'll actually be revisiting an era we've seen before.

The dance will be set in the '20s, and simply everyone will be there — including Klaus (Joseph Morgan). In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Joseph Morgan explained exactly why Klaus will be one of the creepy older dudes who show up at a high school dance. (Mystic Falls High School seriously needs to find better chaperones.) In a word, it's all about Caroline (Candice Accola).

"Klaus is gonna be looking to make some sort of connection with Caroline. The way he feels is, if he has to go to this dance, then obviously, she's gonna be the reason why he goes," says Joseph.

The hybrid clearly has the hots for the blonde vamp, but she has a boyfriend — who's back in town (for some kissing!) in Season 3, Episode 19, "Heart of Darkness." But Joseph says Klaus isn't concerned about Tyler (Michael Trevino): "He doesn't think that Tyler is going to be any kind of competition for him, so I think really he's not taking that threat seriously at the moment." (That may change if Tyler's managed to break his sire bond...)

Caroline's going to have one full dance card come '20s night.

Elena and Stefan in Season 3, Episode 18:

Uh oh. Is this gonna make us cry?

If you did a happy dance upon seeing a photo for Vampire Diaries Season 3, Episode 18, "The Murder of One" from Zap2It with Elena (Nina Dobrev) holding onto Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) face, you might be very disappointed by the latest spoiler from TV Line.

Season 3, Episode 20, "Do Not Go Gentle" is the decade dance (hello, flapper wear), and someone's going to get close while doing the Charleston. Basically, a certain couple is cuddling up on the dance floor and it's bad news for Delena fans. To be fair, Stefan (Paul Wesleydid look dashing in his '20s-era tux.

Executive producer Julie Plec has been saying, "This season, maybe [Elena] has a choice to make," but since this intimate moment comes when there are still two more episodes remaining, we're saying it's too close to call as to which way she'll go with the vampire brothers.

Bonnie Smiles in Season 3, Episode 5:
Photo Credit: Quantrell D. Colbert/The CW

We were so happy to see Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) on Klaus's (Joseph Morgan) not-at-all-product-placement-y phone in Vampire DiariesSeason 3, Episode 18, "The Murder of One." There he was, frolicking with his new dog in Denver's crisp mountain air. Speaking of puppy love, how did Bonnie (Kat Graham) feel about seeing her old beau again (especially on that phone's sweet, high-resolution screen)?

Well, Bonnemy fans, unfortunately it's not looking good for cougar Bonnie and her younger man. First of all, Kat Graham told E! she doesn't think Bonnie should get back together with Jer — unless the love story propels her character forward. Speaking of moving forward, Bonnie's about to start off some sparks with a new hottie — Jamie (Robert Ri'chard).

We haven't seen much interaction between the two, but that's about to change in Season 3, Episode 20, "Do Not Go Gentle." Executive producer Julie Plec told TVLine, ""She finds a nice bit of hope when she gets closer to Jamie and takes him as her date to the Decade Dance where he gets a glimpse of Bonnie the hero in action."

We're sure watching a hot witch cast spells is an aphrodisiac and all, but does this "hero" bit have anything to do with all the deaths at the dance Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore) was talking about? If we were Jamie, we'd cut out of Mystic Falls while we still had all our limbs intact.

'Vampire Diaries': An Original Attacks Damon and Jeremy's Involved (Exclusive Photos)

THR has four exclusive images from the CW drama's return on Thursday, April 19.

The CW
"The Vampire Diaries"

It's been weeks since The Vampire Diaries viewers saw Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) back in

After last week's heartbreaking phone conversation between Jeremy -- still wearing his Gilbert ring (the same one that may cause its wearer to do unimaginable things) -- and big sis Elena (Nina Dobrev), Elena enlists Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to check on her little brother. Given what happened with Alaric (Matthew Davis), can you blame them?

"After all the efforts to keep him safe, ultimately [Elena and company] are going to realize he may not be safe anywhere. Mystic Falls, where people can look out for him, may be the best place for him to be," executive producer Julie Plec told The Hollywood Reporter in February of Jeremy's journey back to Mystic Falls.

THR has four exclusive images from Vampire Diaries' April 19 return, "Heart of Darkness," in which Damon and Elena arrive in Denver only to discover that Jeremy isn't exactly hanging out with the right group of people. In fact, it's original vampire Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) who picks up a baseball bat and strikes Damon while Jeremy and Elena watch in the background.

In the image above: Who (or what) is Elena and Damon looking down at?

Here are three more images below:

How will they get out of this one?

The Vampire Diaries returns April 19 at 8 p.m. on the CW.

Damon and Elena Talk to Jeremy in Season 3, Episode 19:
Photo Credit: Quantrell D. Colbert/The CW 2012 The CW Network
Photo:

Alright, Damon, take it easy.

Since The Vampire Diaries has saddled us with yet another hiatus, we've been using the time to find out anything and everything we can about the first episode back — Season 3, Episode 19, "Heart of Darkness" — which will air on April 19.

First and foremost, we know that Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena(Nina Dobrev) are packing up their sexual tension and hitting the road again. En route to Denver, the two will shack up in a motel, where the doppelganger will get a chance to ogle Damon's shirtless upper body. (Thank  you, Julie Plec!) Either by choice or chance, they'll end up spending the night in a room with — wait for it — just one bed. But will they hook up?

Unfortunately, this trip is about business, not pleasure. More specifically: Original-killing business. Since the Salvatore brothers needs to know which O.V. they're linked to, they need Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) to use his connection to the other side to get answers from Rose (Lauren Cohan) in her ghost vamp state.

Delena fans will be excited to know that Rose is offering up a lot more than just a history lesson. Damon's former fling will proclaim herself to be rooting for him in the Salvatena (Elenatore?) love triangle.

Elena's reunion with her brother won't be all hugs and an interview with a (ghost) vampire, though. It turns out that he's made a dangerous new friend — Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic). Damon and the diabolical Mikaelson brother will start taking swings at each other when they have a run-in at the batting cage.

In the meantime, another familiar face will make his long-overdue return to Mystic FallsTyler (Michael Trevino)! Not surprisingly, the hybrid isnot going to be happy when he starts to suspect that his sire has been putting the moves on Caroline (Candice Accola) in his absence.

Tyler's not the only guy dealing with a romantic rival. Stefan (Paul Wesley) will have to wait for Elena to figure out how she feels about each of the Salvatore brothers.

It seems The Vampire Diaries producers love a Damon (Ian Somerhalder)/Elena (Nina Dobrev) road trip as much as some fans, because they always find a way to get the duo to travel great distances by car. First of all, isn't Damon rich? Can't he just buy them plane tickets? Second of all, isn't Damon rich? Can't he afford anything better than the cheap motel it looks like he and Elena are bedding down in in the promo for Season 3, Episode 19, "Heart of Darkness"?

D and E head to Colorado to see Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), and while the video is full of interesting moments, there are lots of little "will they/won't they" teases that we're going to focus on here. First, Damon struts around in an unbuttoned shirt. Nothing new, but the promo makes it seem like Elena is eyeing him like 1912-era Stefan (Paul Wesley) ogled Edwardian blood donors — and she's doing it from a bed! Then there's a shot of one hand taking another on what looks suspiciously like a generic motel comforter. It could be Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Caroline (Candice Accola) — but something tells us she has better taste than that. (In bed linens, not in hybrids.)

Finally, Damon straight up slips under the covers with Elena. Sure, they've slept together (platonically) before, but there's something about a cheap motel and tawdry sex that seem to go together, right? Additionally, there's a TV Line blind item that says a couple from a hit show is finally hooking up this season. According to the spoiler, "fans will either love it or hate it; there will be no in-between," which sounds like Stelena and Delena fans to a tee, right?

There are some caveats with this speculation. TV Line says the sexy scene isn't going to happen until May, so the motel sleepover could be laying the groundwork for Damon and Elena — or not. In Season 3, Episode 20, Elena invites Stefan to the Decade Dance. They have some tender moments together, and that doesn't seem like Elena's style if she just rolled in the hay with his big brother.

Or maybe what happens in Denver stays in Denver?

Elena at the Ball in Vampire Diaries Season 3, Episode 14:
Photo Credit: Quantrell D. Colbert/The CW 2011 The CW Network, LLC
Photo:

You're at an elegant affair wearing a gorgeous gown, Elena. You think you could hold off on all the drama for just one night.

OMG! We can't believe Elena (Nina Dobrev) is going with a muggle to the decade dance in Vampire Diaries, Season 3, Episode 20, "Do Not Go Gentle"! Kidding, of course. You know those Salvatore boys wouldn't let a mere mortal take their lady love to one of the five most important dances of the year. So which of the brothers will be on E's arm come swing time?

TV Guide has a spoiler that says… wait for it… Stefan (Paul Wesley) is the lucky winner. We already knew they'd have a hubba-hubba moment on the dance floor, but evidently he's also her escort. Not only that, but they'll both be reminded of their days as a couple.
Don't gnash your teeth yet, Delena fans. TV Guide warns that although the pair is making progress, they're not quite ready to get back together

Klaus Has a Bourbon in Vampire Diaries Season 3, Episode 12,
Photo Credit: Quantrell D. Colbert/The CW
Photo:

Klaus lookin' sexy? We'll drink to that.

First, Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) said the Season 3 finale of The Vampire Diaries would "end in tragedy." Then, Candice Accola (Caroline Forbes) admitted the episode made her cry. Now, Joseph Morgan (Klaus) is promising a gigantic cliffhanger.

According to what Joseph told TVLine, "It's going to be more dramatic than last year's finale." Oh, you mean when Klaus dragged Stefan (Paul Wesley) off on a Ripper binge and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen)  started seeing ghosts? Yeah, that sounds easy to top.

"Honestly, I've got goosebumps now thinking about it," J.Morg continued. "Get ready, because the biggest thing we're going to get is a backlash at the end of it from people who are desperate to know what happens next. They're going to have to wait a long, long time [for Season 4], so I just urge everyone to get ready for the finale to end and go, 'Oh my God! But what happens next?!'"

Leave it to Joseph to be ultra vague and still manage to get our pulse to pound. We're already dreading the summer hiatus.
