Gulaal on Star Plus came in with a huge responsibility as it replaced the popularBidaai. However, the show has not been able to make much of an impact as was expected by the channel. In fact, a source informs that the show will now have a generation leap as a last ditch effort to save it. This will be on by April 5 which will have a love triangle between Kesar, Talli and Gulaal. Since the cricket World cup is on, the channel is giving the show some breathing time but if the ratings do not improve then a critical call will be taken post IPL.

A source reveals, "Gulaal had been given ample time to pull up it socks and improve the TRPs. However, nothing of that sort happened and the ratings have steadily been sliding down. The slot it occupies is an extremely crucial time slot and the channel was even contemplating moving the show to the afternoon time band but things are yet at the nascent stage."

Adds another source, "In fact, it is also buzzed that if the show doesn't perform post IPL, it may even be pulled off air."

We sent a text message to producer Sunjoy Wadhwa, Sphere Origins for confirmation but he didn't revert. Meanwhile, Gaurav Bannerjee, Head of Content and Strategy, Star Plus, refuted the buzz of the show being shifted to an afternoon slot.

Thanks for sharing. The show is doing great but some people just don't understand that it is unique in its own way.
