I know from my personal experience that people seem to be taking it as a natural thing to forgive and forget. In my case whenever I say, I can never forget (forgive i have done long back). People raise their eyebrows. Then when started observing people with regard to this, I felt each persons reaction is dependent on the social circumstances they have been bought up in. And they very ideas we say about a girls self respect and things like that, they fall on a deaf ear.
