Holi - the festival of colors - is undoubtedly the most fun-filled and boisterous of Hindu festival. It's an occasion that brings in unadulterated joy and mirth, fun and play, music and dance, and, of course, lots of bright colors!
As this festival of colors is extremely popular festival which is not confined to any age group for old, young and kids everybody turns as naughty as the other on the day. Play with color continues till every inch of all participants is colored and the person becomes virtually unrecognizable.
I will tell u all what mischief i do in Holi:::
I eagerly wait for a prey with a bucket full of color water, an ever ready water jet- popularly called a pichkari and loads of color packets to give vent to their mischief nature. we move out in groups, visiting one room from the other, forcefully coloring the shy ones and exchanging greetings
Significance of Different Colors
Red - Purity
Green - Vitality
Blue - Calm and sedateness
Yellow - Pious feeling
Orange - for progress
Pink- for friendship
Holi Hai!
Holi festival is extremely popular among children, youth and the newly wedded couples. Splashing coloured water, smearing friends with gulal (coloured powder) and tossing water balloons on each other, playing with colours, exchanging Holi gifts, listening to evergreen Holi songs is the order of the day and any offence caused to anyone is washed away. Temples are decorated and Lord Krishna and his consort Radha's idols are placed on swings and devotees sing Holi Folk songs and worship them.
Throughout India Holi is celebrated with fun and excitement. This is a time when enemies turn friends and put colours on each other and say aloud 'Bura na mano Holi hai' . Playing pranks with newly-wedded couples is the most common thing in Holi.
A Sweet Quote :
