Actually, my mom was saying that people who fall into such evil end up reversing in their spiritual plane growth. They may even come back as an insect or another animal in their next birth as punishment. That is, if their soul can survive what happens to them from the time they die until their next birth.

Well nothing escapes the eyes of the Lord. The untold stories about life is strange. Shirdi Baba Satcharita has lots of stories. In one case He saves a frog that was in the mouth if a snake; formerly they were both neighbors who always fought with each other, when they were humans.

Yes sins has to be paid for either now or later. With God's grace it can be reduced or forgiven.

Oh wow...frog was snake's neighbor in a previous birth?! 😲 That's interesting!

Fear is not good to live in because it stops us from growing. Like I must get over my fear of driving!!!

Yeah, that would be good when I actually drive. I've tried so hard, but I don't think I can do it. It's like I think I'm gonna kill someone every time I try.
