It's a Kapoor thing for IIFA this year, or so it seems. With the exit of one big family of Bollywood, enters another just in the nick of time to save the day. As Kareena Kapoor became the first A-list celeb to officially cast her vote at the recently concluded IIFA 2011 voting and the immediately following announcement of the Raj Kapoor retrospect to be presented at this year's IIFA in conjunction with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the Kapoor - IIFA connect for this year's awards in Toronto was all the more affirmed. "It's going to be very special, very emotional. I'm more excited about that than anything else. It's made the Kapoor's feel honoured and humbled," said Kareena Kapoor. The Kapoor brigade is running on full steam right now with cousins Kareena and Ranbir in the top bracket. While Kareena has plump projects like Ra-One with Shahrukh, Agent Vinod with Saif and Bodyguard with Salman; Ranbir will next been seen in Imitiaz Ali's Rockstar to be followed up with Barfee opposite Priyanka Chopra. The illustrious Kapoor Kandaan also includes Ranbir's Pa Rishi Kapoor who has been front and centre with big releases like Do Dooni Chaar and Patiala House recently releasing and Ma, Neetu Singh making her onscreen comeback after 30 years. Along with Kareena's sister Karishma, mom Babita and father Randhir as well as brothers Shammi and Shashi Kapoor. Although the Big B may put the B in Bollywood, the Indian film fraternity is appearing more and more, unified and united as friends of IIFA. And, we have a feeling IIFA Toronto will have more than its share of friend requests this year! |
