chapter--7
gaurav unlocked the door slowly... it was quite early in the morning,and he
thot that perhaps heer wud need some food so he had brot some dry fruits for
her... the caretakers were supposed to get up at 7 or 8,so he took this chance
to meet her before they come...
he was quite surprised to see the lights off... the room,although a bit tidier
than before,was kind of spooky...and he had assumed that heer wud feel afraid
to stay in such a room all alone by herself with the door locked too..bt he was
proved wrong.. he switched on the lights and called out--heer..!! in a
low,careful voice.....
ah..there she was.... he saw her at last....cuddled on the floor under the
large painting,sleeping peacefully... she looked so pretty even in that state
that gaurav forgot to wake her up...he stood there quietly,watching the
sleeping beauty on the floor..... after some moments,the rays of the rising sun
came in through the only glass window in the room and fell on her pretty
face.... gaurav was mesmerized... he cudnt control his inner urge to touch her
face just for once.... he knelt down beside her and touched her cheek with his
finger.... she moved a little in her sleep....bt did nt wake up...
gaurav sighed--poor girl...she must be quite tired--he said to himself....
he moved the strands of wet,sweaty hair frm her face and shook her
gently---heer...heer utho....!!
this time she opened her eyes slowly....drowsily....and looked at him.....
gaurav smiled---utho kuch kha lo.....
heer's eyes became big at once and before gaurav cud say anythng more...she
jumped up and moved away frm him,terrified....
heer---tum....tum....yahan kya kar rahe ho?
gaurav---tum so rahi thi...isiliye maine socha ki subah ho gayi hain..aur
caretakers ke uthne se pehle main...woh...tumhe kuch kha lena
chahiye....isiliye... he fumbled for words to put evrythng nicely.....
heer seemed to soften down a lil.. she wiped her forehead with the back of her
hand and then said in her usual calm tone---hume maf kijiye...hum bht pareshan
hain na...isiliye thoda zyaada..... she smiled....
gaurav heaved a sigh of relief.... he offered her the packet of dry
fruits---kuch kha lo...pata nhi main fir yahan kab aa paunga... kyunki agar
kisine mujhe dekh liya yahan bar bar ate hue...to unlogo ko shak ho jayega....
heer took the packet frm his hands and kept it aside---hum kha lenge..abhi hume
bhuk nhi hain....
gaurav---accha thk hain.. tum kha lena...aur ye lo pani... he gave her a
bottle.... then he got up---thk hain to fir hum chalte hain..... dopahar ko ane
ki koshish karenge.....
heer---aap bht kuch kar rahe hain hamare liye.. hum hamesha apke abhari
rahenge.....
gaurav---kya kya kya? kya rahenge?
heer lowered down her eyes and repeated---hum aapke abhari rahenge....
gaurav laughed---ye tum keh rahi ho to kuch accha hi hoga lekin mujhe maf kar
do...mujhe zyaada hindi samajh mein nhi ati..... actually main yahan ka nhi
hu...main india mein rehta hi nhi hu... yahan to main kisi kam se aya hu...do
tin mahino mein wapas australia chala jaunga....
heer---oh..!! she smilled----mujhe kuch kuch english bhi ati hain....
gaurav lifted his eyebrows---accha? wow..!! thats really good....kahan se
sikhi?
heer---hamare babusa duniya ki...... she bit her lips.....
gaurav---huh? he cudnt get wat she was going to say.....
heer controlled herself... she was on the verge of giving out her real
identity....
gaurav---kya hua? ruk kyun gayi?
heer--kuch nhi....
gaurav---ghar ki yaad aa rahi hain?
his words were so full of emotions that she cudnt keep back her tears...wich
rolled down her cheeks like a hot stream....
gaurav felt uneasy... he had nvr seen a girl cry before.... he didnt know wat
to say or wat to do.... heer kept on sobbing.... her heart burned wen she thot
abt the death of her father.... how that betrayer,that general killed him just
to break her strength..... she clutched her arms tightly...keeping herself in
control.... becoz she felt like a wounded tigress,searching for her
enemy,waiting to finish him off and take her revenge..... a low groan came out
of her throat.....
just then,unable to think of anythng else,gaurav put his arms around
her,pulling her into his embrace....to calm her down.....
heer was shocked....and became stiff at once.... she had also nvr been so close
to any man before in her life except her father.... although she wanted to push
him away.... bt cudnt... her mental strength was extreamely weak and her inner
self was longing for some care...wich gaurav provided.... she hugged him
back.....her sobs increased.....turning into pathetic cries of pain.... gaurav
ran his fingers into her long hair....trying to console her..... bt she was far
frm being consoled.....
gaurav whispered to her---heer....rona band karo..plzz chup ho jao....kuch nhi
hoga tumhe...main hu tumhare saath..main tumhe kuch nhi hone dunga... he half
realized wat and why he was saying all those thngs bt they came right frm
his heart.....
heer calmed down after some time as her emotional outburst was over.....
she released herself frm his embrace....feeling terribly embarressed.... bt wen
she looked into his eyes... her contempt was washed away within a second.....
gaurav---kya baat hain heer? tumhe kis baat ka dar hain mujhe batao.... itna
pareshan kyun ho tum?
heer wiped her tears away----kuch nhi... bas....ghar ki yaad aa rahi hain....
she did nt look into his honest eyes while answering....
gaurav did nt feel like leaving her all alone anymore.... he decided to take
her into is own room and keep her there... she was in a miserable state..... he
was thinking abt it... wen suddenly she said----hume jana hoga..... hume yahan
se jana hoga....
gaurav---haan main bhi yehi soch raha tha... tum ek kam karo.. tum mere kamre
mein chalo... main kisi bhi tarah tumhe wahan chupa dunga.. kisiko kuch pata
nhi chalega....
heer----nhi....hum....hamara matlab...hume is mahal se jana hoga.... abhi
isiwaqt.... yahan rehkar hum kuch nhi kar sakte..... she said to herself---hume
use dhundna hi hoga....
gaurav almost shouted out---kahan jaogi tum?tum hi ne to kahan tha ki tum kuch
din yahan chipkar rehna chahti ho? tumhare gharwale tumhe dhund rahe hain...
wolog tumhara zabardasti kisike saath shaadi karwa denge.... to aisi halat mein
kahan jaogi tum?
" haan haan humne kaha tha" ----heer said impatiently---humne kaha
tha yesab...lekin aab hum ye keh rahe hain....ki hum yahan se jana chahte
hain...bas..... she stood up---hum jaa rahe hain....
gaurav caught her hand and made her turn.---kya matlab ki tum jaa rahi ho?
heer struggled desparately to release herself frm his grip bt he was
stronger....
heer---chodo hume...tumhe koi haq nhi hain hamare saath istarah pesh ane ki....
gaurav felt his temper rising slowly... coz normally he was a vry short
tempered person..--- tum kahin nhi jaogi... tum yehi rahogi....
heer---tum hote kaun ho hume ye kehnewale? tum jante nhi hum kaun hain....
gaurav---jo koi bhi ho.. tum hi ne kaha tha ki tum kuch din yahan chipkar rehna
chahti ho.....aur...
heer shouted---jhooth kahan tha humne....!!
gaurav—to fir batao sach kya hain? He shook her hard---batao..!!
heer released herself with a jerk---haan… humne jhooth kaha tha..apne bare mein…wo sab jhooth tha.. hum heer nhi hain.. aur nahin hum yahan bhagkar aye hain…. Hum HEERA hain.. rajkumari HEERA.. SUMER SINGH ki beti HEERA….
At frst gaurav stood still,unable to say anything….bt then slowly his lips curved out into a smile and he laughed out loudly…. Heera was shocked…
Gaurav(laughing)—tum? Rajkumari heera? Wow..!!!
Heera fumed in anger..bt she kept quiet…
Gaurav---mujhe to pehle hi laga tha kit um koi behrupiya ho… lekin jab tumhe apne bare mein sab kuch kaha tha..tab mujhe taras aya tha tumpar…. Socha tha ki bechari ladki… iski madat karte hain.. lekin mujhe kya pata tha kit um itni badi dhokebaaz niklogi? Lekin haan ek baat to hain… kahani kamal ki banati ho tum…. Raj kumara heera? Are apni umar to dekho… mana ki tumhare saath uski surat milti hain lekin wo saalon pehle mar chuki hain yar….!!!
Heera—nhi… who mari nhi hain… who zinda hain… abhi tak zinda hain…. Hum jante hain koi hamara yakeen nhi karega… par yehi sach hain….
Gaurav felt really irritated---bakwas band karo.. pagal ho gayi ho tum? Ye to hum hain jo tumhari bakwas sune ja rahe hain… aur koi hota to tumhe zaroor police ke hawale kar deta….
Heera –hum koi bakwas nhi kar rahe hain.. dekhna chahte ho tum? To dekho….
She tore open one of her sleeves,revealing her upper arm---ye dekho…raj parivaar ki nishani…
Gaurav looked carefully…and his eyes became wide at once… he had seen that symbol..in some encyclopedias abt ancient rajput history… and in some websited too… no… that was nt any ordinary symbol… it was a mark of royal blood,of rajput dynasty… only the royal prince and princesses bore that symbol.. boys at the back of their necks..or on their chast..or evn sometimes at their backs.. and girls used to have that symbol on their upper arms….or on their waist….
He looked at heera,eyes wide with awe---tum….tum…lekin ye kaise ho sakta hain…? Tum…zinda ho..aur wo bhi is halat mein… ??? he took a step back frm her---tum…to mar chuki ho?
Heera—nhi… hum zinda hain….nhi jante kaise….lekin us aag mein hum mare nhi….
Gaurav kept on blabbering---tum mari nhi? Lekin hows it possible? I mean.. how the hell do u come here? U must be 70 yrs old by now… agr tum zinda ho to tumhara umar to sattar saal ya aisa kuch hona chahiye….
Heera ---hum samay ki chakrabuha mein faskar samay se age pahuch gaye hain yahan….isiliye humara umar nhi badla…
Gaurav—kya bakwas kar rahi ho?
Heera—bakwas nhi…yehi sach hain…. Hum rajkumari heera hain…is baat ka kuch aur sabut chahiye tumhe?
Gaurav felt as if he was dreaming…. TIME TRAVEL? He had only heard of that word..in books…and had seen it in films.. bt he had nvr evr imagined that he wud witness it in his own life…..
Gaurav---ye kaise ho sakta hain? Kaise ho sakta hain yeh?
