SPIRIT OF GEET

lots of dissatisfaction among the reader...provoked me to write this...
just a view..another angle...please not intended to hurt any one...or any thing

the whole geet is based on the spirit this girl GEET who wants to live life
according to her terms & beliefs...& I am so very happy that ...most of us here
like the fact she wants to keep the baby....

there was a question on GEET being westernised...WOW!!!!
wat is westernised mean to u is my question.....

for me westernised is
- selfcenteredness
- too practical
- less family value
- not enough care for a child
(like putting the baby sleep in the other room from day one..my heart akes with that thought
there are WHO articles which say that children getting body warmth from mother are a better
emotionally strong in future)
the list is endless...

wat is my culture....our wat I call Indian
-belongingness
-compassion
-love
-care
-smiling at strangers..
-read any of the indian history..they highlight will be love & care & passion
(ramyan..goes on & on about ram & sitas love..care for each 😳other..krishna lila etc there are more
shankunthala!!!!oops πŸ˜‰    BTW KAMASUTRA was written in India😲)

that was just the view...now come to GEET again....
I read a article - Earlier in the month,  Techgoss.com saw  articles  in mainstream media in UK, Australia and Hong Kong which stated that the swinging lifestyles of the young and restless in Indian BPO's had resulted in a 50 percent increase in abortions in Bangalore.  The following are a few paragraphs of the articles published in the UK and Australia and read by tens of millions of people.

"Women come to work with condoms in their handbags," said one call centre worker, Alkesh Dua. "Everyone is doing it. You're together all night in this cool, hip atmosphere, and you end up getting intimate." Employers have tried to offset the monotonous nature of the work itself by creating an informal college campus atmosphere, where there is drinking and partying.

Since many staff work night shifts, after which normal socialising is impossible,
office friendships ' with accompanying sexual liaisons ' have blossomed.

Techgoss feels that the new generation is living a more liberal lifestyle.  But for every real
relationship there are another few imagined ones.  There will always be something to
gossip about ' real or imagined.  After all, this has been happening for generations.

Has anyone heard the story about how condoms blocked the drains of a call centre?😑  That is another story doing the rounds.  More later.πŸ˜‰

with so much happening in INDIA...why are we talking any thing against wat they are showing  in geet at all..I am sure they have not crossed the limits..neither they have gone overboard..

rather it is so pure & nice to see their true innocent love... common they only showed their duppata stuck in his shirt ..fall & catch..common guys..such moments are so cute..
with so many girls abortioning their child...in INDIA...
here we have GEET who wants to give birth to her unwanted child...whats wrong if
she finds her love of life while doing that ....she can't stop feeling things..because she is planning a child..she has all the rights to lead a normal life...

I am sure geet definitly needs a MSK in her life...to help her fight the battle...
or she will be in the list of all the above mentioned 50% increase in abortion rate...

here is another article to enlighten ur views
During Navratri, after Dandia Raas many Indian teenage girls get pregnant. How to save them from this ?
link
during-navratri-after-dandia-raas-many-indian-hindu-teenage-girls-get-pregnant-how-to-save-them-from-this

Finally I am not against any one who have aborted their kid because it takes a life to get one to this earth...& if u are not sure about it ...please don't do it..just for the sake of it...
as we see GEET herself has to go through so much emotional stress..& lonelyness
GOD bless MSK to fill in life ...

please do tell me ur view on it...

muski..........i completely second ur opinion.........

i fail to understand from which angle ppl find geet westernized......

if we see saas bahu serials and other ekta kapoor serials...........do they show anything tht reflects indian culture..........they are simply disgusting.........
i think if some ppl dont want to watch this serial its fine and i respect their choice ..............but they shouldnt be giving such flimsy excuses.........

Hey Muskaan,
This post was needed..Very nice post.
Okay coming to Geet..she has every right to live her life..has a right to fall in love again?
What if she is pregnant?Does that mean, she should stop living ,loving anyone?No..I completely disagree..
She has the right to lead a normal life. She is not at fault..

And Geet being Westernized..I dont think so..she has still indian values and culture.and we can see that.and she has never crossed her limits.Yeah sometimes she feel jealous, she hugged Maan..that is just human bahaviour guys..I would have done the same If Iam in Geets position. But that doesnt meean that Geet has no values..

totally agree with u...
people should first know wat is our culture before saying anything about it...
i feel the CVs are really attracting the attention of youngsters to the fact of life..abortion..child..
love...which only was always sweet & sweet..never seen from this angle..
how innovative & thought provoking

thanxs..really like how they show her controlling her emotions..& from above articles as examples we all can see that how teenage girls are getting carried away!!!!
here both maan & geet have maintained their dignity..I feel all the young girls should
watch this serial & realizses it more fu in such cute little gestures than getting into the ultimate thing & losing every thing in u...

Beautifully penned down, totally agree with you. It's our values, our culture that girl like geet today is ready to deliver the baby not aborting her/him.
Seriously we cant even tiny bit compare this show to be westernized.
Thats the beauty of our culture, traditions and value that we all are mostly safe of actual western life....

Thanks to make this post......

to be honest this show needs standing ovation for its realistic portrayal of an issue......never had been interested in a show depicting social isuues....but this show manages to keep us hooked through its charm and wonderful portrayal of love, sacrifice, family, values.....without sounding preachy and boring........love everything about geet.............
