SaVan Story…

Hey friends! This is the first time that I am posting a story in this Forum. I have written other things before in various forums, so I thought that I would give it a try over here! Hope u like it!

'Jiju! Chaliye na! Der ho rahi hai mandir ke liye!' Shouted my younger sister. He laughed and carressed her gently on the cheek.

'Theek hai theek hai baby, aa raha hoon! Can I first put these bags in the car?' She nodded. He smiled at her and lifted the two suitcases. 'Jaldi aayega!' She called to him as he was leaving. I felt a strange shiver run up my spine. Something wasn't right…. Just…the way Jiju was looking at both of us…. The way he had so "casually" touched my sister's cheek….The way he had nicknamed her 'Baby'…. I closed my eyes, trying to shake the disturbing thoughts out of my mind. Just then, my aunt tapped me on the shoulder. 'Sanchi….? Kahan khoyi hui hai….? Chal! Kabse bula rahi hoon tujhe!'

My elder sister burst into giggles. 'Arre maa! Aur kahan khoyi rahegi?! Obviously apne Shravan ke baaremse soch rahi hogi!'

As she winked, I could feel my face growing scarlet. My grandma rolled her eyes. 'Mujhe humesha se pata tha ke Sanchi iss pariwaar me rehne ke laayak nahi hai! Na jaana kaisi kaisi sapne dekh rahi hogi Shravan ke baareme! Usha, tujhe pata hai, humaare zamaane me, bin dekhe hi shaadi karwa dete! Aur yeh larki hai ke kuch kaam kiye bina hi sapne saja ne laggi hai!'

I shifted my gaze to the multi-coloured designs on the carpet, more than slightly ashamed. My aunt had her hands on her hips. 'Maa, please. Jaayie yahan se! Ap bhi na? Kabhi kabhi mujhe samajh me nahi aata ke aap Sanchi se itna nafrat kyun karte hain! Bachi hi tho hai who-'

'Par tumhaari nahi. Who teri beti nahi hai. Tho tune kaise itni aasaani se usse apni beti maan liya?! Aur shayad tum yeh baat maan sakko, par main nahi. Mere liye, humesha who ek ghair aurat ki ghair beti hogi. Mere liye who sirf aur sirf Sanchi hogi. Aur kuch nahi.'

I felt a flood of tears rush into my eyes. Why was she being so unreasonalble with me…? Was there not anyone who truly loved me…? Who I wouldn't be a burden on…? Even Usha aunty probably thought I was just an unneeded burden…. But I wouldn't be for long…. Not after my wedding with Shravan…. He would never find me a burden…because he felt something for me that no one else did… He loved me….. I felt a small smile slide onto my lips…. Finally…someone who loved me…for me…. I could hear my heart thudding loudly in my chest…. I felt another flush of red sink into my cheeks. Just then, a soft hand was caressing my head.

'Sanchi…tu inki baatein mat sun…. Tujhe tho pata hai na ke who serious nahi hain…? Chal…hume nikalna chahiye…. Sabhumaara intezaar kar rahe hain na….?'

Saying so, we left for Shravan's house…..

 

 

'Main aap logon ke saath Mandir nahi chaloonga….' Hitler glared at me as if he would have liked to kill me right now…. But enough was enough. If bhaabhi wouldn't call this wedding off, then I would.

'Main nahi chaloonga….' I repeated. 'Arre? Nahi chalega matlab….? Par kyun…? Dekh, Sanchi bhi tumhaara intezaar kar rahi hogi na? Uske baareme bhi tho soch….!' I sighed. Who cared if Sanchi was waiting for me or not?! I didn't! In fact, Tara was probably expecting me right about now too! This is it, Shravan…. I thought to myself…. U can do this…. Saaf saaf bolde…bolde ke tu Sanchi se shaadi nahi karsakta…. Kehede ki teri pyaar, sirf aur sirf Tara hai…. Bolde Shravan… Tujhe isse achcha mauka nahi milega….

They were all looking at me, shocked, waiting for my answer….

'Uh, k-k-kyunki…main…. Pyaar….main….I mean…main… main….'

'Shravan? Yeh kya main main laga rakha hai?! Bol na!?'

I gulped. Uh oh….. 'Uh…main…m..main…bhaabhi se buhot pyaar karta hoon!' I burst out. 'Aur…aur main…bhabhi ke saat rehna chahta hoon! Aap log tho jaante hain na ke bhaabhi abhi kahin nahi jaa sakti…. Who pregnant hai aur doctor ki advise thi! Tho main Nidhi bhaabhi ke saath rehna chahta hoon!'

I said. What the hell?! Why hadn't I told them the real reason?! Why hadn't I told them that I love Tara and not Sanchi….? Why had I not been able to tell them…?

Hitler smirked. (Something he rarely does, might I add….?) 'Iski koi zarurat nahi hogi beta….kyunki-'

'kyunki main bhi tumhaare saath chal rahi hoon!'

I turned around to see who had had the audacity to interrupt Hitler and I found Bhabhi standing right in front of me! I gulped and laughed nervously.

'A-Achcha…? Bhaabhi…par…doctor ne tho kaha tha ke-'

'Off oh Shravan! Humne Doctor se pooch liye hai agar hum mandir jaa sakte hain ki nahi…. Unhone kaha ke hum chal sakte hain! Pain ke liye kuch dawayian di hai, so I am totally equipped! Tu chinta mat kar aur jaa jaake packing kar! Sanchi ke gharwaale aate hi honge!' I turned towards Bhaabhi and frowned at her. She grinned innocently. 'Shravan, der ho rahi hai! Chal na!'

I rolled my eyes and nodded. Destiny definitely wasn't on my side today….
