5 Years Later
Singapore
A totally new setting, new enviroment and new start for Nakusha. She had managed to get her degree and decided she wanted to get away from everything in the UK.. She was now working in Singapore as a Doctor? No, her life didn't go to smoothly and she decided to go into Business Administration. She was working for Ranbir Singhania; the multi millionaire businessman who specialised in the Restaurant business. She had never met him but he was impressed by her hardwork, that she had become the mangeress of 5 of his restaurants. Life was going swiftly for her. She had met someone.
Jai Rikesh Chaudary. The only heir of Thakur Veereen and Thakrain Padma's billion pound estate. Thakur Veereen and his lady were one of the richest people in Singapore and their son the most eligible batchelor. He had met Nakusha during a cruise in Italy. She working hard to get a deal with potential investors and Jai was on a cruise with his parents.
He noticed her, and became attracted straightaway. She would be his bride and though Veereen disapproved for months on end and couldn't see what Jai found so interesting in a middle class girl like Nakusha.. Her name for one was so confusing to him. Finally giving in, he accepted Nakusha and announced a huge engagement party for his son.
*1 year after the engagement*
Jai and Nakusha still together, happy and very much in love. The distance of their working lives meant they hardly got the chance to see each other and when they did, they had so much to catch up on and no space for arguments.
It was the first year anniversary of Jai and Nakusha's engagement and he wanted to celebrate. Taking the day off work, they decided to meet up in a top notch hotel for lunch and then spend the entire day together.
'Hello beautiful' Jai said as he took Nakusha's hand helping her out of the car.
'Hi Jai'
He leaned over to kiss her cheek and she hugged him gently, being happy to be with him. It was a special day with her special someone and she knew she wanted to be no place than here. In his arms.
'Shall we my lady'
She giggled, he was always pampering her and so gentle with her.. if only the same could be said about Nakusha's best friend Babita.
Babi had ditched education and married the flirt Ganpat. She was now living in London as landlady of the Vickers Arms Pub. The romance died after their their son Seth or Sethji as his father calls him was born.
Despite Nakusha warning Babi she didn't pay heed to her words but she claims she is happy with her life. She is happy with Ganpat and her son.
Kishore? He graduated from university and became a lecturer at a University in Scotland. He married ex-model Kalika.. Better known as Kala and one son Anay. Kala's high profile life was too much for Kishore so they separated but neither bothered of getting a divorce. Still living separately, hoping the other will extend their hand.
That was Nakusha's friends who were very much in touch but many miles away from each other. One meeting would them magic to go out and talk old time style.
'Nakusha.. What's up?' Jai asked.
'Oh, I'm sorry.. Its nothing just lost in thoughts'
'That's okay, what would you like to eat?'
'Ermm.. Can we wait before we order'
'Of course hun'
Jai excused himself to go to the washroom as he was walking back to the table, he bumped into an old friend. He held his arm and led him back to the table.
'Its been about 2 years since we met you idiot, Where have you been?'
'Busy, and you? Mr Richie Rich'
'Hahaha.. Whatever... So what you doing these days?'
'I'm owner of my own restaurant empire.. Singhania Cuisine'
'No Way.. My fiance' works for you.. I mean she manages a few of your restaurants. Come with me.. I am sure she will pleased to meet her boss.'
'Actually I-'
'Not today, I've got to go'
'Two minutes.. come on'
Jai brought Ranbir to the table he and Nakusha were dining.
'Darling'
Nakusha turned around and stood up.. She looked up to see this man who was facing Jai.
'Jai?'
'I want you to meet my friend Dutta Patil and Dutta this is my fiancee Nakusha'
Nakusha just stared at him, Dutta? That name.. She hadn't heard it in years. Dutta? Her Dutta? It couldn't be.. In Singapore.. No way..
'Its Ranbir Singhania'
'I know, I know.. Nakusha.. His name is Dutta but he changed his name to Ranbir Singhania.. because I don't know why? But he's the boss you never met.'
Dutta looked at Nakusha.. She was the same just her clothes were more fitghted now and her unibrow had gone. She looked elegant and slightly more maturer, but it was still her. Kusha..
'Hello Na Kusha'
It was him.. He had called her Kusha.. It was.. But Ranbir Singhania? Her boss? Why the double identity? Why did he disappear from London and to see him after 5 years in Singapore?
'Hi Ranbir'
Dutta nodded and left Nakusha standing with many questions and some with possibly no answers. She smiled weakly at Jai. Dutta Patil was back and she couldn't avoid him.
