Emotional manipulation - Page 2

The thing is that Dadisa is not one to change quickly.. especially now that she has a bit of malice towards Badi Maasi. I agree that if Badi Maasi didn't get Dadisa to agree about Sugna's education now and had tried instead to wait till Dadisa sees the benefits of it herself, it would have wasted a long time.. and the hope that Dadisa would come to a positive conclusion was too little. So it was more important to start Sugna on the path to a better future with the hope that eventually Dadisa will fall in line and see the benefits herself when Sugna is happy.

Dadisa's only change so far was in realizing how wrong she was in treating Phooli the way she did. And that happened because Dadisa got a dose of her medicine in the strongest way posible. But in terms of giving education to the women of the house.. would Dadisa ever realize the importance? She herself hated to study and was forced to learn somewhat by Badi Maasi. On another day Dadisa would have seen the logic of that argument ...of how the little education that she recieved has helped her keep her household together after her husband died. But now Dadisa was only trying to stop Badi Maasi from bringing about any change. She was in no mood for logic.. she was only being stubborn and to get her to bend her back a little Badi Maasi had to do something like this.

Granted that Dadisa may change her mind in case something happens that she doesn't like.. but this is better than nothing. Its better than Sugna sitting with the bhajan mandali being bored to a slow death.
