i am still in shock...i can't keep up with shlok's speed...i doubt ...is he a human?...poor astha gave up job , her virginity,and now leaving her parent...i am in madly love with this story...plz...plz update soon
Chapter XI
The road to Mumbai took two and half hours. It could take less but Astha was sick in her stomach and they had to park for some time; she was having some fresh air.
She hoped they might talk but he was silent and focused on the road. She observed him cautiously while he was driving. He was dressed differently from what she had seen before. She was not sure but his jeans looked expensive not mentioning his white shirt. She saw his initials embroidered on the shirt's pocket. Though not a specialist she knew what it meant: the shirt was tailor-made. For the first time she saw a watch on him. When he first came to meet her he had no accessories on, that she remembered perfectly well. Now his left wrist boastfully demonstrated a sparkling mechanism. Big, black, round she could not say more on the subject. Now he looked different; prosperous and rich, extremely rich and aloof. He wore her ring, it was a simple golden rim but his hand looked somehow tamed with it; she liked that thought. She touched her diamond ring, strange as it may seem but he guessed her finger size rightly. She desperately wanted to talk to him but could not invent the subject but at last she made up her mind
'Where do you live in Mumbai?'
'I have an apartment.'
'Is it big?'
'No'
'How many rooms are there?'
'Five'
'That's not many' she tried to joke but he remained silent.
'Shlok, are you not in the chatting mood?'
'I prefer not to talk when I drive. The car is very powerful and you'll be dead in a second if I distract' was the answer and she immediately curbed her tongue.
They arrived to Mumbai and then to the apartment in some skyscraper. Fifteen minutes before their arrival Shlok called somebody and said
'We'll be in fifteen minutes. Is everything ok?' somebody answered him and he dismissed the call.
They moved inside the building in the car five or six levels underground. There was his parking lot. Evidently, the house was a luxurious place to live as there were a lot of 'spaceships' parked.
'So many astronauts living in Mumbai' she joked. He got out of the car and let her out. As she watched him stretching his back and arms she felt her mouth dry. His white shirt was really tight fitting so it left no space for imagination. Now she knew that it was physical desire, oh, she was so bold and grown up at that moment. He took the bags and they went inside the elevator. She saw him press the level button and she realized they evidently would live in a penthouse.
The elevator's doors were the doors to the apartment. When she entered she saw a young guy there.
She said 'Hallo, I'm Astha. How are you?'
'Astha, meet Suresh. He's my PA so if you can't find me, call him, he knows where I am 24/7'
"Hallo, Mrs.Agnihotri. I'm so glad to meet you and let me congratulate you on your wedding. I wish you all the happiness'
'Thank you so much. Please, call me Astha.' She liked Suresh very much, he had clever eyes and open smile.
'I will, Mrs.Agnihotri' replied he and Astha realized he won't call her Astha ever.

The apartment was huge. The size of the hall was exactly like her parents' house. What amazed her was a wonderful mirror in the golden frame in the hall. The frame itself she felt was antiquarian, golden beetles and butterflies were sitting on the golden flowers. That was the creation of the real master-hand. Shlok immediately noticed her awe.
'Do you like it?'
'That is amazing, like' is not the word. It's a masterpiece'
'I'm glad. I like it too. I hope you would learn to see the beauty of art'
There was no excursion around. He just showed her all the necessary things, cupboards, beds, bathrooms etc. Then he left saying he would return late.
'The fridge is full, eat what you like, cook what you like. It's all yours' heard she.
A romantic in her was a bit disappointed as he was not eager to be with her but she understood how busy he was and decided not to grumble. She had a bath and cooked and watched TV and unpacked her clothes. Mother bought her a lot of 'that stuff' (Mom was not that courageous to pronounce what these clothes were for but Astha knew now). Astha was more courageous than her mother as she could not only pronounce but could actually put them on though nighties were really short. So maybe one day...
He returned late and hungry. She was sitting with him in the kitchen while he was eating. She sat there and thought what a strange thing marriage was: she has been living without him for twenty four years and now he was closer to her than her mother. She thought 'You meet a stranger and suddenly you must know everything about him'. How was it possible?
'Found everything? How was the day?' she heard.
'Just ok. Everything is good'
'Plans?'
'Sleep'
'I hope I'm invited'
'Oh..ah.. I...am...'
"I take it as yes'' smiled he.
He was invited. She forgot to put her nightie on but she was not sorry about it.agree and you are great as wellyou write so well, i envy you...👏
Nice update can't wait to read more poor Astha I wonder what will happen she finds out the truth
