Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja tied the knot on May 8, 2018 in traditional Sikh style wedding. The couple exchanged their wedding vows amidst the presence of their families and close friends from the industry.

It's just been a week that the couple got married and now we hear that they have fallen into a controversy! Yes, you heard that right! Read on to find out what exactly has happened when the whole wedding went well!

As per reports in Mid-Day, their wedding has hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikh community who have accused Sonam and Anand for not following the Sikh traditions correctly during the rituals.

Apparently, some former office bearers of the Shoromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) raised an objection that Anand did not remove his kalgi (brooch) from his turban during the ceremony which is an important tradition according to their culture.

The former members have called for an action to be taken against the SGPC member who was present for the ceremony of the two lovebirds. However, they have not clarified as to what action are they intending to take regarding the same.

In sikh wedding , kalgi is removed as respect to the holy book as only Guru Gobind Singh Ji wore kalgi. And in presence of Guru ( Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji) kalgi is removed as honor and respect and not just a tradition.

Frankly with all the traditions and added on rituals its hard not to make an mistake. Who keeps up to date on such stuff? Relatives usually intervene in such matters and maybe it not done in their family. We all have different traditions.

People have too much time on their hands nowadays, everything gets criticized and scrutinized .. just bless the couple, let them know that they missed a component.. forgive them, bless them and move on
