Till a few days back Varun Dhawan was mostly known for his entertaining and masala films almost a kind of vibe that people have of superstar Salman Khan but, with Shoojit Sircar's "October" the actor has touched the heart of many with his decent act. Not just that, people have also related their life and personality with his character in the film. The film also stars Banita Sandhu in the lead role.
Having been receiving several praises and positive messages for his actions in the film the actor is overwhelmed with all the positive response October has received. The film also managed to break his 'only masala film hero' image.
Talking about the film and the appreciation he received, Varun told a leading tabloid, "It is the most amazing experience to receive five stars from the biggest critics of the country. It's the most acclaimed film of the last year or so in that sense, but for me what matters is what the audience thinks and how they react to it. Just having people reach out to me via messages, meetings, letters, and tell me how October touched them and that they could relate with Dan is a victory for me."
He added, "Collaborating with dada has been wonderful and he is someone I can easily work with again, if he wants to take me, that is. He tells really unique stories and they are not very easy to do as an actor but it is a lot of fun collaborating with him because he takes you out of your comfort zone and that's what he did with me. He pushed me to work hard, and he believed in me. It's crazy... no one would have thought that after a Judwa 2, it would be possible to pull off a film like October."
Now that, October is a different film from his previous ones when asked if he will focus on doing more content-oriented films, Varun said, "Like I said, even during Badlapur, a script has to come my way which really shakes me up and then I will do something about it. October came to me and I did it. If something comes along that I feel the need to put out there as an artist, if it challenges me, I'll do it. I am excited about the next few films I have lined up, including Sui Dhaga. There's another big film which will be announced soon."
Well, is the big film called Shuddhi?
