The year 2017 for Saif Ali Khan started on a decent note as his film "Rangoon" received luke-warm response. Although, the film couldn't do well in terms of numbers and profits at the box office but Saif's performance was liked by the audience.
Talking about Rangoon, Saif had said in an interview that he does not regret doing the film. His second film of the year, Chef which recently hit the theatres didn't manage to do any good for the actor. Now, Saif is ready with his third film of the year, Kaalakaandi, but the film's release is facing some obstacles.
It was earlier reported that Kaalakaandi is scheduled to hit the screens on 8th November but now the film will not have a theatrical release.
Buzz is that Kaalakaandi will only release on the digital platform. Media reports states that the producers have taken this decision after the poor performance of Saif's last two releases Rangoon and Chef. That's why now distributors don't want to take the risk for releasing the film in the theatres.
Speculations have also raised that the Censor Board is not ready to clear the content of the film and due to this it would not be easy to release this film in the theaters.
Praising Kaalakaandi, Saif had said, "I am happy to be a part of 'Kaalakaandi'. Akshat Verma has directed this film beautifully and only he can show this story in this way Mumbai is crazy and fun city and Akshat has captured it beautifully".
We still await the final decision. What do you'll think? Do the makers need to change their decision and give the film a theatrical release? Comment in the section below.
