Ranveer Singh ended 2018 with a bang and impressed the audience and the critics alike with his portrayal of Sangram Bhalerao in Rohit Shetty's Simmba. The film has crossed the coveted 200-crore in the second week of its release and fans are going gaga over the masala entertainer. However, it would not be wrong to say that the highlight of the film was certainly seeing Ranveer and Ajay Devgn in one frame.
For the unversed, Ajay not only narrated Simmba completely but also played his popular character of Singham. And to say the least, the audience couldn't thank Rohit enough to pull this casting coup. But not just the fans, even Ranveer was ecstatic to share screen with the super-talented Ajay.
When he was asked about it, Ranveer told BollywoodLife, "I am always fanboying when he is around. He is one of my screen idols. What can you say about him? It's so refreshing to meet someone of his stature who is so grounded, humble and modest, so clear about the perspective he has. He is so real! When he comes on set, the kind of aura he carries wherever he goes he is a superstar."
The 33-year old actor further added, "To be collaborating with him was a mind trip for me. It was like, I finished one shot, and I went to the monitor to check it and it was, and then he comes in the frame and I was like, 'Sh*t man, is this for real? That's me and Ajay Devgn together?' It's wild, it gives me goosebumps."
Ranveer concluded by saying that he has grown up watching 90s films and working with Ajay is nothing less than a dream come true for him.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranveer will next be seen in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy alongside Alia Bhatt apart from playing Kapil Dev in his biopic '83, to be helmed by Kabir Khan.
