"Fukrey Returns" has arrived but somehow it has forgotten to get the charm that it's previous instalment had, back with it this time. The film has a similar plot and ends on the same note just like "Fukrey". However, this time the difference is just in the amount of screen time allotted to the characters.
About the characters:
Varun Sharma aka "Choocha" is the USP of the film. He is the lone wolf giving you the lighter moments throughout the film.
Pankaj Tripathi aka Panditji is a surprise package. His comic timing is bang on. He has bought to life the most simple words and turned them into something really funny.
Richa Chadda aka Bholi Punjaban is back with her 'dhamaka'.
Pulkit Samrat as Hunny has disappointed us big time. His coordination with Choocha in the film has failed to impress us. But, we can blame the poor scripting of his character for that!
This time as well, Ali Fazal has a very small portion in the film. This in turn has resulted in wasting his talent and not using it to the fullest.
Manjot Singh has considerably given an okayish performance.
What we liked/ disliked about the film:
There are few puches here and there and they are the only factor of entertainment throughout. Among the songs, you have the title track that keeps playing at intervals creating a comic atmosphere. The last song, that's played along with the end credits is the cherry on the cake and makes you leave the theater with a lighter mood. It does the work of damage controller.
What we didn't like: There is no story in the film. The plot looks similar to its first installment. The film does not have anything fresh or new to offer.
The film is a decent family entertainer but is strictly a "one time watch". Do not expect a "rolling on the floor laughing" comedy. It's just a plain comedy film with some good punches and Varun Sharma- Richa Chadda- Pankaj Tripathi's performance.
