Jhumma Mitra to enter Balika Vadhu!

The actress will be seen essaying a challenging role in the show...

Jhumma MitraJhumma Mitra, who was last seen on Jeannie Aur Juju playing the loud and funny bengali neighbor will now be seen in an entirely different avatar on Colors' popular show Balika Vadhu (Sphere Origin).

Our source informs us, "Jhumma will be seen as Pushkar's mother Kanwari Devi. Pushkar (Parichay Sharma) is a man-child who is physically grown up but mentally a child of 10 years, he is most attached to his mother Kanwari Devi which will be essayed by Jhumma."

When we contacted Jhumma, she confirmed the news saying, "It is an entirely different role than all the other characters I have essayed, as I have been seen in mostly comedies till date. Kanwari is a matured lady who knows she is a mother of a mentally challenged child but in place of being embarrassed or feeling bad for the child she is proud of her son and looks at him like an equal. She knows how to handle him and she is the one he is most attached to. It is a character where I am improvising my acting and reworking on myself as a person as I have to place myself in the shoe of a real person, a real mother who is mature, understanding and loving. Thanks to the director Siddharth Sengupta who is helping me in every step of the process and pointing out the smallest of details."
