Saumya Tandon on co-hosting Cadbury Quiz Contest..

Saumya Tandon will now be co hosting the new season of this popular quiz show along with Derek O'Brien on Colors.

Saumya Tandon will join hands with Derek O'Brien as the co-host of the famous quiz show, Bournvita Quiz Contest that returns after a gap of three years. This time around, it will have a new name and will be aired on a new channel.

After presenting DID, Zor Ka Jhatka and then Comedy Circus 3 - Teen Ka Tadka, this Jab We Met girl is now all set to add another feather to her hosting cap. She will co-host next season of Bournvita quiz contest now re christened as Cadbury Quiz Contest along with famous quiz master, Derek o Brien. The very popular inter school quiz contest which earlier aired on Zee TV and Sony will now air on Colors from 14th August at 10.30 am, as part of the channel's efforts to open up its Sunday morning programming.

When contacted Saumya says, "I have always liked General Knowledge competitions and will use this opportunity to further increase my vocabulary".

Her role will be to ask the questions in Hindi as a part of the move to broad base the appeal of the show.

Talking about her look in the show, Saumya says, "My costumes have been designed by a Kolkata designer. It will be a very chic and dignified indo western look, there will be no bling".

She further admitted that working with kids will be a challenge, "What works in my favour is that these kids are geeks and nerds. So it will be fun working with them".

Saumya who had left Comedy Circus informs us that the production house had again approached her to fill in Reshmi Ghosh's shoes, who was dropped due to poor performance, "But I declined the offer as I was out of town".

Saumya says as of now she is contracted to do only 14 episodes of Cadbury Quiz Contest, "I don't believe in locking myself for long periods as that limits my other opportunities. I would love to go back to Zee to host DID, but nothing has been finalized as of yet. I am keeping my fingers
crossed on Bollywood offers too".

Am soo glad this show is back... we really NEED such good shows back on TV... however I disagree with one thing that Saumya said, this show is not just about geeks and nerds. A certain amount of smartness, sharpness and awareness about music, sports, films and fashion is also required. Its not just about mugging facts from a book. In the end, its usually the smart ones who win- the ones who have all round knowledge about what goes around them, not just the bookish ones. :-)
All the best to Saumya for this new show. She is a fine host, hope she does a good job again.

very happy this quiz show is coming back, it used to be one of my faves...

one more thing, if reshmi is no good and saumya is not hosting comedy circus, can the makers of the show plz bring back shruti di?? plzplzplzzz... she was the best host ever:)

Its reminds me of my childhood days.. Sunday aaya ki you wake up early and sit in front of the tv watchin Derek n the show...n trying to answer the questions..!!! nostalgic..!!!
