Designer Shouger Merchant Doshi feels the young generation must don Indian attires and the national flag colours for Republic Day, Jan 26. She has thus launched a range of traditional anarkalis in saffron, white and green.

"These colours translate very well in Indianwear. So, putting together a collection with these colours is very easy for a designer. Orange is the new pink, lime and jade green are the colours of 2013, and white is always a timeless and evergreen colour. By playing with shades of these colours, one can create a patriotic Indian-themed collection," Doshi told IANS.

The designer, who will retail the collection through her Mumbai store, has used fabrics like velvet, net and georgette for the line.

"The theme of the collection is to pay admiration to the nation through my design. All the creations have minimalistic embellishments like sequins, lace and stones," added Doshi.

The price tags begin at Rs.6,000.
