Sahara TV was launched in 2000 as a 24-hour Hindi entertainment channel. On 10th October 2004, the Channel became SaharaOne with the launch of The First Indian Sangeet Awards held at the Royal Albert Hall, London.

Overweight contestants from all walks of life, knock off the inches and weight under the guidance of fitness trainers and nutritionists, over a period of four months. Riding on the success of its earlier reality show Biggest Loser Jeetega, Musical reality show Jjhoom India stemed from the SaharaOne Television stable. This show provided platform to television artistes who thought they couldn't be actors and singers at the same time. Starting Aug 25th, 2008, SaharaOne Television launched the biggest and the largest reality show ever, Saas V/S Bahu.
