Anita marries her cousin Arjun and Aarthi marries Dinesh, a photographer. Abirami continues her evil ways and gets Dinesh’s employee, Divya murdered by a moneylender ‘kanduvatti’ Ramamoorthy for fear of being exposed. Shanthi helps Madhan in marrying his former lover, Rohini as a result of which she is thrown out along with Madhan. Slowly Shanthi wins the affection and confidence of the family members one by one and expose Abirami's schemes. Ramya gets married to Gowtham Raj , son of another rival businessman, Srinivasan . Meanwhile Abirami divorces Madhan, schemes with Srinivasan and usurps RK’s wealth. Now enters a new Assistant commissioner of police(ACD), Duraipandiyan and starts investigations on Divya’s murder.
Shyam and Ramya soon understand Abirami’s true nature and side with RK and his family. Lakshman helps RK to build his business again and his daughter, Uma marries Shyam. Lakshman dies of cancer and his last letter reveals that Abirami was adopted by Jambu. Uma also dies during child birth and Shyam leaves for Australia leaving the child with his sister.
Sankarapandiyan(SKPD) is a white collared criminal. His wife, Muthulakshmi deserted him with her one year old daughter when she learnt about his nefarious ways. She loses her child and is taken care of by a Malaysian benefactor. She returns after 30 years as Charulatha and searches for her lost daughter and vows to send SKPD to the gallows. Charu’s PA , Sivaraman double crosses her and she takes ACD’s sweetheart Priya as her PA. An international terrorist, Joe has infiltrated into RK’s office as Samson. But Shanthi has her suspicions about him.
The police send subinspector Jamuna , as the lost Chinnapecchi into SKPD’s household. Charu soon learns about Jamuna , but continues the drama and promises to help the police find her saviour ‘othaikai’ Subramaniam, who is an eyewitness to SKPD’s criminal activites.
Srinivasan strikes a deal with Abirami that he would get RK’s bungalow in return for information abt her real father. This leads to Raji’s death. But before the house registration is over , Srini gets arrested for another forgery. Abirami puts up a reformed act before a gullible RK who discloses that Charu is her real mother.
Meanwhile Priya finds ACD and Jamuna together and misunderstands them.
