Yami Gautam chooses to Chill

Yami tells us, "It is the channel's call to address these issues. As an actor, there is no reason for me to be pressurized and I shouldn't be. It would just end up affecting my work."

Yami elaborates, "Colors in itself is a channel that came up within a short span of time. I trust the channel. So the channel people very well know which chord to strike when. TRPs are a very unpredictable thing. They are up one day and down the next. They don't necessarily indicate how nice the show is. We are following the slow and steady pace towards growth."

The actress further tells us, "There are certain shows, whose TRPs are great but they are not talked about or loved by the people. So TRPs don't exactly measure the popularity of the show."

She explains by narrating an incident that made her realize the reach of Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam. She tells us, "I recently had to shoot at Chandigarh. No one knew we had the shooting scheduled for Chandigarh. Not even the media was aware of it. But one day, a group of college students just came up to me and said, - 'You are Leher aren't you? Oh we love watching you. In your previous show you had straight hair but now in this curly hairdo we love you even more.' I was pleasantly surprised by all the love and appreciation."

The actress too seems to love every moment of playing Leher. "In my last show I played a warrior princess which was very demanding physically. I had to learn fencing, horse riding and many more things that demanded physical exertion. As Leher, I have to focus on the subtle nuances of facial expression and gestures. I need to work hard to portray lLher too but it's easy on my body. So it's a refreshing change."

Talking about her sizzling hot co-star Gaurav Khanna, Yami says, "Gaurav is a very experienced person, he is my senior. But it never shows in his attitude. He is humble and has an extremely good sense of humor that puts you at ease with him. He is very understanding. He and all of my co-stars are very sweet to me. I'm fortunate to be working with such a great team."

How is it that their Jodi is a hit even before the love track is on? "Honestly, I don't know what is the formula for an onscreen pair to become a hit. But I feel the creatives have a big hand to play in this. They construct the characters and the chemistry between them. We as actors just try our level best to do justice what they have put forth on papers," she says straightforwardly.

Let's hope that the TRPs will soon catch up and make this love-story a hit…
