As an actor, the first lesson you need to learn is to let go off your inhibitions. Even then, nothing can prepare you for real life embarrassments, if you go by Jatin Shah's experience, who plays Batri in Zee TV's Do Saheliyan launching on March 1st, at the 10.30 PM slot, from Monday to Thursday.
Jatin tells us, "When I started shooting for Do Saheliyan, I knew it was going to be different and difficult, which is why I took it up in the first place. But what I didn't realize is how much every little detail matters when you do such a typical character. My character Batri, wears a lot of jewelry which is typical of the boys from rural areas around Jaisalmer. And I used to keep forgetting to wear one or the other ornament. So I thought, I should be more careful not to skip any ornament from now on."
But the incident that happened soon after made Jatin realize that he's got more important things to be careful about. Jatin says, "I had a scene with Sakshi Tanwar ji, who plays my Bhabhi, where I had to take a dramatic step into a doorway. But I realized that my dhoti just opened up as I did it. It was so embarrassing! From then on, I made sure everything is properly tied up everywhere (laughs)."
On a different note, Jatin explains why he chose to do this cameo, that too outside his preferred Balaji tent. "I work to satisfy myself. The way the narration was done, I just fell in love with the script, especially the character – Batri. Whether it is of 4-5 days or years long is irrelevant to me. I'm just concerned about the quality of work. And Balaji is like family to me. I will always give them my first preference. I took up Do Saheliyan because the character made sense to my beliefs in work," he signs off.
