various characters in Television shows especially for the character of Gattu in Baa Bahu Aur Baby on Star Plus. He is not only a good actor but also a great
director as he has directed a very popular comedy show Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai which
was really appreciated by the viewers and is still remembered by them.
Now this talented actor- director is taking a step forward and is all set to direct his first film with the producer Vipul shah who has produced many Bollywood films.
We got in touch with Deven to know more about the film and his experience as a director of the film for the first time.
Deven says, "Yes, I am working on a script which I will be directing with producer Vipul Shah who has already produced many Bollywood films like upcoming film Holiday, Namaste London. The film is horro- com (horror- comedy). I and Vipul are friends and he decided to produce a film and told me about it. I already had a script with me ready which he read and liked it. Right now I am working on the script and it will take time of about 5 to 6 months to go on the floor. It's really a great experience that I am directing a film and I will have to prove myself to the audience and to my producer for which I will have to work really hard. I won't be seen acting in the film."
We further asked him about his plans to come on
Television for which he said, "I will definitely come back on the small screen as I
will never leave doing television. Directing a film is just moving ahead in my
career. Currently I am getting many offers but I am waiting for some
interesting one. I have already done different kinds of role in theaters
and on Television also."
Deven says his Gattu's character used to motivate many people and they were attached to the character, "I remember when I was doing Baa Bahu Aur Baby the
character of Guttu was full of emotion and so I used to get many calls, messages
and mails where people used to say that when Gattu doesn't eat food in the show
my son in real doesn't eat, the other comment which I heard was when Gattu fell sick my
mother went walking bare foot to Siddhivinayak and many such things. It was
such a great feeling that my character was loved by all."
"I really feel blessed and lucky that god has gifted me such kind of talent. So I will come back soon
on Television and I am open to all kinds of role not specifically comedy," concludes Deven.
