The number 24 seems to hold a special meaning for actor Gaurav Bakshi. Debuting on Indian television with 24 tele-series on Colors is a matter of coincidence for the actor who will be seen as Agent Kabir in the two episodes of the high-octane show that comes to an end soon.
Gaurav met the lead actor of the show actor Anil Kapoor for the first time 24 years ago when the actor was shooting for his film Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, "It is a strange coincidence because it was that visit to the film sets which inspired me to become an actor," says Gaurav, "And now 24 years later we had to meet on the sets of a show called 24, produced by Anil Kapoor which marks my foray on Indian television."
Apparently Rensil D'Silva who directed his two episodes has offered him a role in Season 2 of the show. "But, as you know things can fall through the last minute too, so I won't consider it as a confirmed project till I have actually signed the contract," says Gaurav. He adds that he was closely keeping tabs on the production of the show for the last one year but missed out on the opportunity of casting in one of the leading roles because he was away in the US at the time. "I am so glad that I got the role of Agent Kabir; it's a prestigious project so I would have been happy with even a two-minute role because it would have satisfied me as an actor." Ideally, he would have liked to do the role of Aditya Singhania (Neil Bhoopalam) in the show.
In the meanwhile, the actor starts shooting for NFDC's television show Zindagi.com to be directed by Umesh Bisht in December, where he plays a district magistrate. He will also be anchoring a business show on Zee Business and has been finalized as a lead for a show on a leading television channel but is not ready to talk about it now, "The official announcement hasn't been made as yet so I have been advised against talking about the show," says Gaurav.
