What does fitness mean to you? What's your idea of fitness?
For this generation, fitness is all about having six-packs. But, for me, fitness is all about staying active and having a healthy body.
What efforts do you take to stay in shape?
After my usual 12-13 hours of shoot, I see to it that I manage and take out time for my regular gym regime. Even in my busiest day, I work out for at least one hour.
Are you conscious about your food choices?
Being an actor, I have to keep a track on my food choices. I always make it a point to follow an ideal diet and eat the right things from time to time, including oats and fruits. I tend to avoid eating sweets, but sometimes I have no control on myself. I can stay without anything but being a Punjabi I just cannot stay without sweets and sometimes I go overboard, which is not right. (Laughs)
Three things you do every day to remain fit.
2) Have a glass of Bottle Gourd juice and Aloe-Vera juice, every morning.
3) Eat oats and fruits every day.
What is your take about proteins and supplement in take among the guys these days?
For some people, the modern conception of fitness may be having a bulky body and a six-pack abs. I don't say that it is wrong because for models and actors, supplementation is quite general. However, I believe supplementation is fine up to a certain extent but if you make it a routine, it will eventually cause damage to your body. Protein powders and supplements will be a treat at the beginning but you cannot maintain such a body forever.
Is there any sport you are skilled at?
I have been practicing boxing since I was a child. Also, I was a state level Basketball player when I used to reside in America. In fact, I have also won many matches at a higher level.
A celeb body you admire.
I don't actually look up to anybody for a fitness guru because for most of them they have consumed supplements at some point of their life. Yet, the only celebrity I admire when it comes to fitness is Salman Khan. Salman has been genuinely working out since so many years and he is one such person who has been very passionate about his body.
What is your fitness secret?
Even though I eat a lot of sweets, I maintain equilibrium by working out more. Workout helps you to stay active all the time.
A fitness tip for your fans.
Don't eat as much sweets as I eat, if you can't devote enough time to burn those added calories. Just eat the right food and stay healthy.
