TellyBuzz got in a candid chat along with a cute and bubbly actress Sonam Lamba who is playing the role of a younger sister of the main lead Keerti Nagpure a.k.a Nandini in Rashmi Sharma's recently launched show Desh Ki Beti Nandini on Sony TV, this show is based on political drama.
We spoke to her to know about how did acting happen to her, what made her to take up the show Desh Ki Beti Nandini, her journey in this industry and much more.
Here it is what she said...
Tell me something about your character in the show Desh Ki Beti Nandini?
I am playing the character of a bubbly girl known as Ritu who is fun loving. She enjoys her life to the fullest and dreams of becoming a very well-known fashion designer one day. She is currently pursuing a fashion designing course from a college. Her only problem is that she wanted to pursue the fashion designing course from a very well-known and top college in town but she couldn't take admission in such a college as her family cannot not afford it.
I am getting to play a lot of shades in the character and it is very helpful for me as this is my first show. This show itself is preparing me for my betterment in this industry.
What made you to take up this show?
Well, who wouldn't want to be a part of Rashmi Sharma's production? (Smiles). It is a good start to my career and also my show airs on one of the best channel that is Sony. The character that I play in this show is also very interesting and people will easily relate to it too.
How is it working with your co-actors and the production house?
It has been brilliant so far. I am getting to learn a lot working with the experienced co-actors who have been acting with us in our show. Everybody is very helpful and supportive. Though I have come all the way from Chandigarh to Mumbai, I feel very homely on the sets of the show as all the people are very loving and caring.
How did acting happen to you?
I have completed my graduation in B.Com and I have done B.E.D too. I was into theater before I took up television. I did a lot of theater plays and through that I got an opportunity to act in television shows and I am very much happy to grab the opportunities that came my way.
You were to be seen in the show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon... Ek Baar Phir, so why did you discontinue with the show?
I had signed the show long back but the show kept on getting delayed for a very long time. It had been five months long that the show was delayed and I could not wait for that long. The show Desh Ki Beti Nandini came my way and I took it up.
How are you adjusting in this new city?
Adjusting is a bit problem in Mumbai as I belong to Chandigarh, because of the climate change, it made me ill for many days. The water too is not suiting me here but I am sure slowly things will fall into its place.
Which are your current favorite shows on television?
Well, currently I don't watch television as I am engrossed in shooting for my show. But I used to love the show Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha on Colors. I have followed both the seasons of the show and I have really loved the main lead - Kunal Karan Kapoor in the show.
