Young and talented actor Kanwar Dhillon, who is widely recognized as Addu of Colors popular show Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha Season 2 succeeded to spark off a magic in the hearts of the audience with his commendable screen presence and flawless acting skills.
Post the show, the actor has been on a roll and is currently busy preparing for his final year of graduation. In conversation with TellyBuzz, the actor talks about his busy schedule and his future plans of taking up a new project soon.
What is keeping you occupied these days?
Ever since Na Bole Tum Season 2 came to an end, I have been dedicating my time to my studies. As I'm pursuing my final year of BMM (Bachelor of Mass Media), I'll be appearing for my fifth semester exams by the end of this month. In fact, I have left many shows in the pipeline, giving priority to my exams because studies are equally important. However, most probably, I will take up a new show in a short while. But right now, I'm focusing on my studies, which is my main priority at the moment.
Did working take a toll on your studies?
Yes, the hectic shooting schedule had surely taken a toll on my studies but I was already prepared for it. I have already missed out on a lot of portion while I was busy with Na Bole Tum... yet, I was managing my college and shoots capably. Nevertheless, that was also a good experience and fun phase to juggle between the two. It was my conscious decision to work and study simultaneously, so I have no complains about anything.
How much do you value education?
As a matter of fact, young talents who get exposure at a very early age tend to leave their education aside and continue working for the greed of fame and money. But, they fail to plan out about their future, for instance, what if they don't get work after a few years and are not even a qualified graduate? Education plays an important role in everybody's life and that is the reason, I'm not compromising with my studies.
Firstly, I haven't disappeared anywhere from television to make a come-back. It's just that I'm on a self-imposed break for a while. Secondly, as far as the roles are concerned, I believe that I don't want to take up anything in random just for the sake of being seen on television. I'll always look forward to do sensible and good work. So let's see what comes my way!
Any offers on your professional front?
Frankly speaking, I have a line of exciting offers but I'm looking forward to some really out-of-the-ordinary heroic lead role. Be it a positive or a negative role, I'm open to good work and both the kind of roles are equally appreciated and loved by the audience in today's date.
The role of Addu brought the best out of you. So, will negative characters be your priority?
I believe negative shade characters leave more impact and are liked by the audience. But, that does not mean I will stick to a particular style. I just hope that I'm not pushed to take up a negative role for some time now because I don't wish to get typecast into a particular image.
When can we expect you on television?
Well, I'm not going to make my fans wait till long. Just a month more and then as soon as I'll finish my exams, I'll surely take up something good on television.
A message for your fans.
To all my fans and well-wishers, thanks for all your sweet messages and love for wanting to see me back on screen. I really appreciate the love you shower on me. You have always made me feel special and treasured. I have been busy with my studies and exams but I will get back on TV soon for a kick ass joyride. Love you all. God bless!
