Unlike the ongoing television shows, Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms upcoming daily soap Tera Mera Rishta Purana which will air on Star Plus will have a story with a South - Indian background. Well a South-Indian background sounds interesting, but it seems that it will be a task for the actors too as they will have to learn the new language. It would have had been easy for a south Indian actor who would have been be a part of the show, however looking at the cast of the show it doesn't seem that there is no South Indian actor in the show.
On the same we got in touch with Shruti Bapna who plays one of the important characters in the show. We asked her how difficult was it for her to learn the South Indian accent and she said, "Yes, I will be seen speaking in a South Indian accent in the show Tera Mera Rishta Purana. Well it is not all that difficult as we hardly have to speak the dialogues in the language. But honestly yes, a different background in this show makes the show different too (smiles)."
When asked Shruti about her character in the show she shares, "I will be seen playing the role of the elder sister Vandita, the eldest of all the three sisters. I and Divyanka Tripathy are real sisters and we have a cousin sister too which is played by Mihika Varma."
As we had reported earlier that the shoot for the show had already begun since long time, however it seems that Shruti has not yet started shooting for the show, "Well, I haven't started shooting for the show as in yet. We will resume for the same by tomorrow."
We wish Shruti Bapna all the best for her upcoming show. Hope to see the show on air soon.

She will exactly do the mockery, ekta's serial has the tendency to gain trp for initial time but due to the dragging of story yhe serial becomes bakwas, so I hate her serials, don't like to watch them, opportunistic lady, she does not make good shows.
Seriously, I am so annoyed by the stereotyping of South Indians. Seems like many of these producers/writers/directors have absolutely NO idea of how South Indians live, dress and speak.
I agree that to represent a particular community/culture you need to show certain recognizable traits. That is the reason stereotypes are used for an unfamiliar audience. But when the stereotypes are used again and again and again, it ceases to be funny:(
I really hope that Ekta does not do the same. But looking at her track record, I don't really think so!

Please for heaven sake when you show a South Indian background don't show every single male and female dressed in silk saree and lungi with shirt and a shawl on the shoulder. That's hardly the dressing style of South Indians. We wear every kind of dress ranginh from salwaars , designer sarees to jeans and tops. There are people amongst us who speak clear hindi without an accent. Please keep these things in mind! !!
