Following a similar trend, television actor Ayaz Ahmed is regular with his workout routine and believes that being fit is a significant part of an actor's life.
What does fitness mean to you? What's your idea of fitness?
Fitness is very important in one's life, especially in an actor's life. For me, fitness does not only mean pumping out your muscles and having a huge bulky body, instead it means maintaining a good health.
What efforts do you take to stay in shape?
I've always been gifted by a good body, so I need not take much effort to get into a desired shape. However, I used to follow a disciplined workout routine before Do Dil Ek Jaan. But since, it's a new show, I had to devote all my time and endeavor to nurture it. Even though I'm caught up with my shoot, I make sure that whenever I get time, I hit the gym.
What is your gym routine?
Well, it's a mixture of everything. I start off with a nice cardio, followed by a lot of stretching. After stretching, I go ahead with light pumping of muscles. And if I get more time, I prefer kicking the punching bag, which is good for your cardio and your abs.
Are you conscious about your food choices?
I'm not at all conscious about my food choices. In fact, I eat anything and everything. If I find something tempting, I wouldn't think before eating, I'll just grab it. When I'm shooting throughout the day, I obviously eat whatever is provided on the sets and later have my dinner out because they is no one at my home in Mumbai to cook for me. Since I'm a great foodie, I don't restrict myself unnecessarily.
Three things you do every day to remain fit.
1) Whenever I get time on the set, I utilize my time by doing push-ups or kicking the punching bag.
2) Play cricket on the sets.
3) Taking care of your skin is also very important, therefore I make sure that I wipe out all the make-up and cleanse my skin, to keep it clean and healthy.
Is there any sport you are skilled at?
I'm very much into sports and I have tried my hands on almost every sport. I'm proficiently skilled at Martial Arts and I've been a National Champion in Martial Arts during my school days.
A celeb body you admire.
In Hollywood, there are many actors whom I admire in terms of their fitness and perfect body. To name a few, Brad Pitt exhibited an amazing body in the movie Fight club. At first, when I thought about having a heroic body, the first few people who came into my mind were Salman Khan and John Abraham. But I wanted to have a prototype body just like Sushant Singh Rajput. I really admire his physique because it's not too bulky and at the same you can show off your lean body.
What is your fitness mantra?
Whenever I get time, I utilize it by exercising and indulging in other physical activities. Also, whenever I get an opportunity to hit the gym, I make sure that I make the most of it. If I'm scheduling 2 hours to gym from my daily routine, I don't waste it in chit-chatting in the gym.
A fitness tip for your fans.
Don't compare your body with someone else's. Fitness is not about being better than someone else, it's about being better than you used to be. So I'll advice everybody that just concentrate on your workout and do as much as you can.
