Janmashtmi is a much awaited festival in India. It marks the devoted celebrations of Lord Krishna's birth. The festival of Janmashtami is celebrated by Hindus across the world with immense jubilation and excitement.
One such Krishna devotee in our television industry is actor Jay Soni, who is currently seen in Colors daily Sanskaar - Dharohar Apnon Ki. He is a very dedicated and cultured son of the Vaishnav family.
In conversation with Jay, we found that the actor keeps a fast on every Janmashtami. He says, "Janmashtami has always been exciting and fun event for me. I've been following the ritual of fasting on every Janmashtami since childhood."
When asked how does Jay feel about the customs and rituals of this festival, he says, "Fasting is an integral custom on the festival of Janmashtami. However, no kind of special delicacy is prepared on this day because you can only have fruits and sabudana wada while keeping the fast."
Furthermore, the actor went on to say, "After having a day long fast today, I'll be visiting the temple late in the night with my entire family to offer prayers and follow the rituals of Krishna Janam."
For someone who celebrates Janmashtami ever since a child, there surely has to be memories attached to it. When asked Jay about his childhood memories regarding this auspicious occasion, the actor shares with us, "I used to be a part of the Dahi Handi event during my college days. In fact, I had also been injured severely twice and that is the reason my Mom doesn't allow me to get involved in Dahi Handi anymore, as she finds it too risky."
So does he have any plans this time? "Well, if at all I get time, I might go to watch the Dahi Handi event near by my building."
