Eager to know about how his love for photography, we got in touch with him and an elated Faisal said, "Photography was my hobby. It all started from my shoots. There used to be photographers on our sets to shoot the working stills, and I used to examine them every day. I would also take their camera and click some random pictures of the sets and my colleagues. It is from then that my love for photography originated and with time slowly it became my career option too."
Further he added, "Slowly slowly with time I started taking pictures of the places that I visited and tried to click some portfolios which came out really well. People appreciated my work and my interest in photography started growing more and more. Then I got my own equipment and opened a studio. So also I have clicked pictures for my telly town buddies namely Rubina Dilaik, Sharad Kelkar, producer Rajan Shahi, Neetu Chandra among many others."
He gives credit to acting for making him a photographer, "Truly my acting career has helped me a lot get my pictures so well clicked. It has helped me immensely as I have never assisted anybody in photography and neither have I taken any classes to learn photography."
Given the insecurities in an actor's career, he feels that an actor should have 2 careers, "I feel that an actor should have two careers, so that once his show ends he always has something else to do rather than sit with no work until you get another one."
He says he will be back soon onscreen, "Though I am engrossed in photography it does not mean I have quit to acting. I am very much an actor too and I am getting a lot of offers even now. But I am currently waiting for a strong concept and a challenging role to come my way."
Well truly said Mr Faisal - an actor should have two careers as you may never know what might happen next.
