Rarely do TV stars get a
big break in films. Also even if they do go on to do films how often is it that
their film may be nominated for an Oscar? Former Splitsvilla winner and TV
actor Priya Shinde's Marathi movie Hou De Jara Sa Ushir directed by debutant
filmmakers Wasim and Tahir Maner may get a chance to compete in the Best Film
nomination category in the Oscars. The film has after all cleared the first
level which qualified the film for a screening along with 300 other world films
at a theatre in Hollywood, now the film will go through the second testing
Speaking on her role in the film Priya says, "I play Sapna who is practical, ambitious and a modern girl. She is the girlfriend of the hero Raj. Raj and Priya often fight." The film is about three people in an IT firm who are lonely and stressed.
Priya is looking forward to the film's debut in California on November 22nd. It will hit the Indian screens in January. The press conference of the film will be held on November 20th in India.
Priya unlike many other actresses won't be bidding adieu to the small screen after having tasted success in movies. She explains, "TV is much better than films."
