4th April to 27th May 2012! It's the season of cricket fever. The ongoing IPL cricket matches have affected the TRPs of the Indian Television Shows. The TRPs of the Indian Television shows have seen a decline since the IPL matches have commenced.
Taking into account the TRP ratings of last week, almost all the shows have seen a decline in their TRP ratings as compared to point they were in the previous week. Star Plus Show Diya Aur Baati Hum, which is ruling the TRP chart for the last few weeks, has also seen a decline in its TRP this week. The TRP of this show in the previous week was 4.6, whereas in this week its TRP dropped to 4.5, but the show has still maintained the top position in the TRP chart.
Similarly, some other shows like Saath Nibhana Saathiya, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hain, CID, etc. have also undergone through a decline in their TRPs as compared to the rank they were holding in the previous week. But still they have achieved success in maintaining a good rank in the TRP rankings. It means that these shows are also in the list of the victims of the IPL Fever.
Tellybuzz contacted Kunal Karan Kapoor aka Mohan of Na Bole
Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha to know his view about the fact that is the ongoing IPL
season is the reason behind the declining TRPs of the daily soaps? He said,
"Yes! To some extent IPL might be the reason behind it, as cricket drives
the country mad & people do follow cricket."
We asked a viewer Neeti as to what does she prefer to watch during the prime time in this IPL season? She replied as, "I am a daily soap addict, but these days I prefer watching IPL." So, how does she manage to track the storyline of her favorite serials? She replied that she gets in touch with her daily soap by watching the repeat telecasts and even if she misses to watch during the repeat telecasts, she manages to watch them through the online mediums.
So Fans, if your favorite show is not holding a good position
in the TRP chart these days then don't be sad as IPL season is the reason behind it.
