Our tinsel town divas are genetically blessed with immense amount of beauty but the one person who polishes their natural aesthetics for varied events and occasions is the super talented hands of a makeup artist.

The recent boom of makeup industry on social media is overwhelming. There are so many youtubers making it big and doing wondrous looks on themselves, however, there are some makeup creatives who do a stupendous job on others. And today, we have, none other than Beyhadh and Bepannaah beautiful Jennifer Winget's makeup artist, Sonam Vaghani.

How has your journey in the showbiz been?

As an airhostess with Jet Airways, I used to spend lot of time doing my own makeup. I also used to buy quality makeup from MAC, where once a senior makeup artist told me that I was so good that I should do my own wedding makeup. Of course then I got married, post which I decided to stop flying and pursue a makeup career. In 2011, I went to the makeup class Pankake by Puneet.

After studying makeup, did you straight start working for celebrities?

Nope. I decided to get some experience. I started assisting my coach, Puneet. I have assisted Puneet for Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma's Parachute and Reliance commercials and Filmfare photoshoot. After assisting on this job, I took off on my own.

We see you've worked with Jennifer Winget, how has the experience been to do makeup on one of the cutest face of TV industry?

I met Jennifer at a common friend's brithday party, where she talked to me about a wedding she had to attend, and gave me a chance to do her makeup for the same occasion. Followed by a great opportunity to do Jennifer's makeup for Beyhadh's hoarding photoshoot. I feel very lucky to get this chance and to know that Jennifer also likes my work. What Jennifer mainly adores about the way I do her makeup is that her skin doesn't look cakey.

How can we achieve that, and any tips to pick the correct products to get a flawless base?

When it comes to choosing a foundation shade, match it to your chest area. However, for buying, I will say 'patience is the virtue.' Try out the foundation at a store and wait. Check how it looks by taking few selfies and observe how it reacts with your skin.' And if your skin is extremely flawless, then just stay away from using foundation rather, a good concealer enough to cover the flaws is a great idea.

As a Makeup artist, do you apply makeup everyday yourself?

I do, at the same time I don't go all out. That said, I do like a no-makeup makeup look, which mainly comprises of neatly filled in eyebrows, not black but a brown eyeliner, some mascara (if time permits), a hint of blush and some subtle lip drama is a must for me.

What is the trick to succeeding as a makeup artist in Showbiz?

Availability, 100 percent dedication to this work, and most of all just 'Keep trying.'

Any tips for young girls and women trying to experiment their hand at makeup?

For women, don't follow over-the-top trends and always aim at enhancing your natural beauty by including nude and neutral makeup pigments in your kit. As for young girls I would suggest them to play with colours, for example fun vibrant eyeliner and nails. Youngsters should feel free to experiment and try different makeup looks since their skin is always glowing and taut.
