Sushant Singh, host of COLORS' Wanted - High Alert in conversation with TellyBuzz..
Sushant Singh, the intense and seasoned actor will
now don the role of a host in COLORS' new reality show, 'Wanted - High
Alert'.. The talented man will be seen narrating real life cases of
suspects and convicts on the run, thereby urging the common man to
bring them to book and take charge of their safety.
Here is Sushant in conversation with TellyBuzz on his new role and on the unique show..
Tell us something about the concept of the show? The
concept of the show is to help the police and alert the public by
showing real life cases of suspects and convicts on the run. The show
will air two cases per episode and the channel will flash a hot line
number for viewers to call, in case they have a clue to the suspect. The
hot line number ensures viewers complete safety, and will take
extreme care so that their identity does not get revealed. This process
makes it easier for the public to come in front and report about the
crime they have seen.
How will this concept work on the show?We
are going to choose such real life cases who are accused and are
wanted by the police. We will show people who have
volunteered to help in this cause. We will show the incidents on
screen, and will also be showing pictures of criminals, and the
various get ups in which he might have appeared to escaped the law. We
will ask the audience to help us and in turn we will help police by
helping them to find them.
Has the shoot started?No
we have not shot for any episode and are going to start it in couple
of days. The show starts from 26th of February 2011, and we will wait for the response..So far the promos
are rocking and publicity has been done well.
For the first you will be anchoring a show, how much of homework have you done for the role?I
am doing the homework for a long time now
(laughs). Frankly speaking I am scared and I am very much nervous to do
this show. Enacting a character and facing the audience is
different, and facing viewers directly without any mask of a
character and being yourself is different. And the most petrifying
thing is that I am all alone in the show without anyone giving me a
company in hosting. It's a big responsibility that I have shouldered.
How do you feel being on the right side of the law?(Laughs)
for the first time I am on the right side of the law. And in real
life and I have always been on this side. I hope I reach out to the audience..
There are many shows like CID, Crime patrol, which
is similar to this concept, what kind of competition do you expect?I don't see any competition,
because the basic idea of the show is not to compete but to bring the
criminal fact. Hardly any one comes
forward to raise a voice against the issues they hear of or see. We are providing a platform
where the audience has to just pass on the information to us without
getting your identity revealed. We help law and order.
How many informations have you received till now?Let's see how well we do after the first episode is aired.. You want to be a good guy, you want to be a crime fighter, we are
here to give you that opportunity without endangering your life.
What will be the impact on society from the show?We
can't say that this show will change the thought process of people over
night. We are not here to say that the show will clean all the
criminals from society. The basic idea behind the show is that anyone
who is going to attempt any crime will think twice before
committing because he must know that many eyes are on him, and he might
just be a call away from getting caught.. This show is a simple medium
to
decrease crime.
Why have you always preferred to do grey shades? It's
very easy to do positive characters and behave goody goody always. I would say we
all are grey, we all do few bad things in our life, but pretend to
be good when we are at home. We think we have not done anything bad and
we are still good guys. That is
very challenging and only that kind of character attracts me, so I take
up such characters.
We heard you will be directing a movie?Yes,
I am on it but it will take me some time to come up with it. It won't be any
criminal type story but will be very realistic, closely related to common man's life.
Future projectsRight now I am concentrating on this show and have no other projects in hands.
