Vaishnavi Dhanraj, popularly known as Tasha in Sony TV's CID talks to Tellybuzz about her role of Jhanvi in Colors TV's Na Aana Is Desh Laado

Vaishnavi Dhanraj had captured all our hearts as Tasha in Sony and Fireworks Productions' CID and now she is all set to impress the audience impersonating as Jhanvi  in Colors' Na Aana Is Desh Laado.

But why Vaishnavi did choose to move out of a show like CID? Well, here is the answer.

Tellybuzz had an exclusive conversation with the girl where she talked about her new role, her journey being in the CID team and much more..

How were you selected for the role?
I was called for an audition while I was doing CID after which they selected me for the role. This is one role I never expected to come across me and I am really happy that I could do this.

What is the character all about?
The character name is Jhanvi who is very strong, bold and confident. She is Dilli ka Ladakka who speaks for herself and never takes crap.

You have been brought up by Amba (Shikha Singh), how are you raised?
Jhanvi is grown up in a really pampered atmosphere by Amba but at the same time  has had a very strict and disciplined atmosphere too. She has learnt Taekwondo to protect herself and I too am learning the stunt for the show.  She is a person who is very tomboyish and rides bike and at the same time very beautiful and carries herself very well.

What made you choose Laado?
This is a lead character in the show and particularly the role is not similar to the ones I played till date. One more thing that attracted me was the similarity the role has to Vaishnavi in real.

Sia and Raghav are two characters that people loved to the core and they are now not part of the show; are you apprehensive about losing a large chunk of audience?
I know that the audience is upset about the exit of Sia and Raghav, but at the same time I am sure that they will accept me and Simran as their daughters. The story is about their daughters', so I feel they will be eager to see how we are and will try to find Sia and Raghav in us.

How is it working with Shikha Singh?
Shikha and I had worked in CID earlier and when I came to know that she is going to be there with me, I was more than excited. We both have a superb chemistry on screen and off screen as well, where we are great buddies and have a blast on the sets.

You have quit a show like CID after working for almost two years, how was the experience working for such a show?
After working so long for CID, we had already become like a family including the spot dada and everyone. The show has been there for more than 13 years now and they were already a family when I entered. But I was welcomed very warmly and all embraced me with heart into the family. Since I was the youngest one on the sets, everyone used to pamper me a lot. I learnt a lot from everyone in the show and especially Shivaji sir who is a real sweetheart.

Was it a tough decision for you?
Yes obviously, because the whole unit had become one big family and we had already gelled well together and I literally cried when I was about to leave the show.

What made you decide to quit a show like CID?
Being associated with a show like CID is always a pleasure and I will never forget the learning
experience I received doing the show. But at the same time I needed to experience myself out of the character Tasha and see what I could do more. I knew some day I will have to move out and explore myself.

Since the character sketch of both Tasha and Jhanvi sounds similar, how are we to differentiate them?
Both the characters are bold in their personality but at the same time there is a major difference too. Tasha is a character who is very bold and knows her priorities and limits where she has control over the language and the way she carried herself. Jhanvi is a person who is bold and beautiful, bubbly and talkative and who does not care about the world and very outspoken.

How is Vaishnavi?
Vaishnavi is a blend of Tasha and Jhanvi where I have the discipline and boldness of Tasha with a mixture of talkativeness of Jhanvi.

What are you looking forward to from this lead role?
I am looking forward for a good performance in the show wherein I can put my best and improve each day.
