The gorgeous Shweta Tiwari
is finally back in action post Kasautii, with her sensitive portrayal in COLORS' Jaane Kya Baat Hui, produced by Cinevistas…
Here is the actress in a candid talk on her character and the show…Tell us about your role in Jaane Kya Baat Hui?
essay the role of Aradhana in the show who is a house wife. Family is
world to her and day in and day out she takes care of them. But some
where later, she feels dejected with her hubby and this is when the new
guy comes in her life. She then tries to discover her own identity, and
the show depicts the journey of Aradhana thro' all the ups and downs of
life. What was the reason for taking this role?
only reason is that Aradhana is very different from Prerna of Kasautii
Zindagi Kii. This character of mine in Jaane Kya… is very realistic and
I am sure 90% of the women can relate to it. Another reason for taking
this show is that I don't have to play an on-screen mother again
When I was initially offered this role, and I got to
know that Sanjit is playing my hubby, I was in doubt because Sanjit
played by brother-in-law earlier in Kasautii. I just hope the audience
does not think that I am now flirting with my devar (grins). But the
day we started shooting, everything was normal and we were also very
comfortable working together.Don't you think the subject dealing with infidelity is quite bold?
it is a bold subject, but there isn't any such provocation of
infidelity here. The show just tries to portray the double standards of
society in a very simple manner. What's the basic moral of the storyline?
the show, we want to put across the point that when men can be forgiven
for their extra marital affairs, then why is it that only the woman is
blamed and not forgiven? This is the reality of today. There are plenty
of husbands who just cannot stand when their wife talks to her male
friends. But when the hubby talks with his female friends, why is it
that the wife has to accept it hands down? This show does not tell the
viewers to go out and have an affair, but it is just questioning the
double standard thoughts that exist in society. So will this show too see Shweta shedding tears?
is an important element of the show. There are so many emotions
involved with it. A person need not speak, but the tears will tell you
the whole story. Can it be said as an autobiography of yours?
not just my autobiography, but it is of everyone!! It can also be the
story of your neighbors, or some one in your own family. You can see
such things happening to anyone close to you. That is why I say that
many people can relate to this show and to my character. In personal life too, do you think that the same phrase 'Jaane kya baat hui' holds good?
not just for me, but I'm sure many of us would think sometimes of what
happened in our lives and why it happened. There are so many situations
in life that makes you think of 'Jaane kya baat hui'...
