Sanjit Bedi, the Cinevistas loyalist talks about his serials Vivaah and the upcoming serial on COLORS, Jaane Kya Baat Hui...

Dr. Omi Joshi of Sanjeevani is a busy man these days. Better known as Sanjit Bedi, the actor is doing two serials for different channels under the same production banner. Needless to say, he is not complaining.

“Why should I? This is the time to work and Cinevistas has always given me good roles and Jaane Kya Baat Hui (on Colors) and Vivaah (on Zee) have very challenging roles for me”, says Sanjit.

While Bedi was a part of the original Sanjeevani, he is not to be seen in the sequel Dill Mill Gayye. “The sequel is more about the young generation and their love lives. Though the first part also revolved around love stories, it was not the central theme. There were other plots as well. I don't think I would have been suitable in the sequel”, says Bedi.

Vivaah is a women-centric show. What made him take up the role? A smiling Bedi responds in his characteristic witty manner, “In India you won't find any television serial that is not women-centric. Plus Rajveer is a brilliant character – there was no way I could have missed that. There are so many shades to the character. He is very rich and successful in his professional life, but his personal life is in tantrums. The girl he loved and got married to, is in love with someone else. I am really enjoying playing this role”. 

In what seems to be a bizarre coincidence, his on-screen wife, played by shweta-tiwari/" title="Shweta Tiwari">Shweta Tiwari in Jaane Kya Baat Hui on COLORS also turns out to be infidel. Ask him about this and all you will get in return is a smile. “To answer your question, I have to give out the storyline which I cannot! So wait and watch. I am enjoying working with shweta-tiwari/" title="Shweta Tiwari">Shweta Tiwari – though this time in a different way. In Kasauti ..she was my sister-in-law and this time the equations are completely different”, says he.

Sanjit Bedi also participated in Sony’s reality show Mr. and Ms. Television and though he did not win the competition, he surely left a mark. “I am comfortable with these light reality shows where you don't have to plead with people for votes through SMSes! I am also participating as the celebrity guest for Jayati Bhatia in the Sahara reality show, Saas V/s Bahu”, says the actor who is happily married to a very possessive wife! “I am a very caring husband too and my wife will never let me participate in shows like Nach Baliye!”, avers Sanjit as he signs off…
