From the journey of being a model to now a popular television actor, Aishwarya Sakhuja has experienced all the accolades with her role in the show, 'Saas Bina Sasural.' However, after getting married a year ago, the actress hasn't been doing any fiction shows and has been a part of two reality shows now.
Aishwarya spills some beans over the decision of doing back-to-back reality shows, life after marriage and her 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' journey.
We learnt that, there were a lot of injuries on the show, considering the nature of it, so were there any serious injuries?
You know, with a show like this, you can't have any serious injuries. Because, you have a team of hundred people making sure, that you don't get injured so bad. We were facing the extremes of going underwater, dealing with keedas (insects), going high up in the air, fire related stunts and what not! But as a broadcaster, they cannot mess around with our safety. So along with a hundred creative people, we have hundred people to ensure we are safe. So of course, injuries happened, but they were all recoverable.
Its been a long time, since you have done a fiction show. Especially after your marriage, you have done two reality shows. So is it a planned decision of going the reality show way?
I don't plan anything. Especially after marriage, I haven't planed anything on the professional front. But, these two shows, Nach Baliye 7' and Khatron Ke Khiladi' were on my wishlist since ages. In fact, while doing Nach Baliye, I let-go of a lot of big fiction shows offered to me. Because, I needed to dance and wanted to let go of that fear of mine and get comfortable with the stage phenomenon. And now with Khatron..' a similar thing applies. When things happened back-to-back, I actually started feeling that marriage has changed my stars.. for the better (laughs). I actually got to do things that I wanted to do since ages.
So do you ever plan to get back to fiction shows again
or would you like to continue doing reality shows?
Absolutely. I will certainly get back to fiction shows now.
The two main things on my bucket list have been tick marked. So, now you won't
be seeing me in any more reality shows per se. My next aim is a good fiction
show, probably a finite series. The finite series concept is suddenly gaining a
lot of importance in the industry, which is great. So I would love to do
another amazing fiction show with a limited but fantastic storyline.
You did Saas Bina Sasural, which had a stereotyped ring to
the title, naming it to be the same old saas bahu saga. But it was a different
concept, so would you do something on similar lines?
Even while I did Saas Bina Sasural, I thought I don't want to
do any saas and sasural drama. But it was an absolutely different show with a
brilliant concept and that's the reason it did well. I enjoyed doing it a lot.
So now, I want to do something that I enjoy and something that is not
regressive at all. And as I mentioned, thankfully television has changed in the
past one and a half years drastically for the better. So yes, may be something
not similar to a genre like Saas Bina Sasural, but definitely an unusual or
engaging drama would interest me.
We are certain the fans cannot wait to see the actress back on the television with a yet another exciting show.
