Last seen in Life OK's remarkable mythological drama 'Devon Ke Dev. Mahadev', Anupam Bhattacharya is cheesed off doing television and feels that he is better of doing films.

Hearing this, we were in for a shock as most actors would agree to the fact that TV as a medium, has a lot to offer to actors!

In a candid conversation, the actor expressed his dismal on being part of the Telly industry. Read on...

Anupam said, "I have done enough of TV so far and for an actor, it is very important to do substantial roles. I have been avoiding this medium from the past 2 years now, despite of getting a lot of offers. TV has been on a standstill, since a long time now. The concepts of shows promote regressive thinking and characters either display the mediocrity of our society or are frivolous. There are women oriented shows but what matters is.. how and on what wavelength, does the woman think."

Hmm...

The actor even went on to say.. how television needs to progress in terms of creativity.

He averred, "Even if TV does a good business, there is no progress in the creativity. The viewer's minds have been trained and will not be open to experiment with modern concepts... is what I feel. It is not one Producer but all production houses and channels, that need to change the way TV is viewed today."

Elaborating about his future projects, Anupam stated, "I am currently doing ad commercials and trying to gain prominence in the film circuit. I am doing a small role in Bollywood film 'Teen' by Sujoy Ghosh which stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vidya Balan among other acclaimed actors."

Way to go Anupam!
