A Homecoming for Tasneem Sheikh..

It’s a kind of homecoming for Tasneem Sheikh, who hit it big with her character in Kkusum. Her journey to stardom, which started with the girl-next-door portrayal in Kkusum, to various versatile roles, including her negative portrayal in Kumkum, has been applauded by one and all.

Post-marriage, Tasneem eased out and played a negative character with a comic touch, Mohini to élan in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. With the Viraanis out of Shantiniketan, a fresh new dose of drama awaits the audience, as the whole family moves to a low-class Chawl to face yet another series of trials and tribulations.

However, it was an emotional moment for Tasneem who was overwhelmed as she shot for her first scene in the chawl. “I began my career with Balaji’s Kkusum right here, and now I am here, doing Kyunki. This transition in the storyline of Kyunki is special to me, as I have landed up in the same house that the Production House used during my Kkusum days”, says a jubilant Tasneem. As it is rightly said, “Life’s a big circle and you get back to where you started from”. When asked about her journey, she replies, “It has been marvelous, I have done everything possible. I did a reality show, I did Kumkum where I portayed many different shades, I even played a drug addict in Siddhant, and then the comic vamp in Kyunki”.

So what’s next for Tasneem? “I work in a daily soap as of now, but I have another big daily soap at home, which is my family, comprising of in-laws and husband. So it’s just one hectic schedule to manage these two hows(laughs).All is a bit eased out when my husband is on ship, but things go berserk when he is in town”, says the perfect Bahu cum wife in reel life… Coming back to the track of Kyunki, Tasneem says, “The family will now have a tough time adjusting to the new life style. So now, there’s going to be lot more drama to which the common man can relate”.
