It's a day to celebrate and rejoice for the entire team of Sunshine Productions' popular show The Buddy Project Season 2 - Now in College on Channel V, as the show has completed 200 episodes today. Being the no. 1 youth show on Channel V, for so long the show took a leap in between from school to college, without any breaks and the show is very much liked about the young audience due to its different and fresh concept.
TellyBuzz spoke to Sudhir Sharma, the producer of the show to know about his feelings on achieving this milestone.
The Buddy Project has completed 200 episodes today. How are you feeling about it?
The excitement is not just about completing 200 episodes but the excitement is all because of we are doing a different content, which is being accepted by the people and we have completed 200 episodes as well. It's not just a number of 200 episodes but it's the success of a different type of content which is making us very happy.
How has been the journey so far?
We started the show with very high hopes. Initially, the show started with school but a time came when the show started dragging and the channel's programming team suggested an idea to shift the show to the college life. That was a brilliant decision taken by them and it's in the interest of the audience towards the show, which is making us popular today.
Any fondest memory working with the team?
Everyone was new including Fahad Ali, Bharti Kumar and I was personally involved in all the look test and auditions. Thousands of people gave audition for the show but in the first look itself I saw that these people had that spark and connect with the character so we didn't need to shortlist more people. It was a very rare thing which happened. We have completed more than a year and it's one of the happiest show. Manav Gohil is holding the show together apart from the creative and everyone, not just as an actor but as a person too by keeping everyone's moral up all the time. It's a great pleasure to have these kind of people in the team. Youngsters are set to be non-disciplined who don't come on time but I am really fortunate that we have got disciplined people like Fahad, Kunal Kulbhushan Jaisingh, Bharti, Nikhil Mehta and all others. All of them are much disciplined. All of them are fantastic people to work with and this is why we are moving ahead with good numbers.
The show has been No. 1 on the channel for so long. Whom do you want to give the entire credit to?
The credit goes to each and every one including my production team. We keep a lot of bank of episodes for our show because people go and come on time. The writers Anand Shivakumaran and Nishikanth did a great job, the actors as well the entire production team.
How you all are going to celebrate the moment?
We were planning for celebration today but some important sequences are being shot today and the rain is also playing a trick with us. So, we are looking forward to having a party in the upcoming week.
What's interesting in the upcoming episodes?
We have taken a conscious decision for the upcoming episodes that we will be touching some realistic issues which are happening around us. Apart from the twist and turns, the show will reflect the issues taking place in our society.
What you would like to say to the fans?
We are glad that the audience likes this show
made on a different concept. They proved that whatever we are thinking, it was
apt. We are thankful to all of them.
