How does it feel to be the host of a show like Mission Ustaad? Mission Ustaad is a show for a good cause. It feels great to be a part of a show, where its not just entertainment, but it goes out and reaches people and makes them understand their responsibilities. Though I am just hosting the show, all I do is present the singers and host the Galas, yet at the end of the day, I feel that I am atleast in a small way contributing to the Millennium development goals, and as an artist, that’s truly satisfying.
Your comments on the show and its format.
The show is very engaging. The singers are all well known and they have a massive fan following for the various singing genres that they are in. So this show aims an entertaining the audience, and at the same time, gives attention towards the Millenium Development Goals. o This way not only is awareness spread around, but also, something in store for the audience to stay glued.
Your take on the Millennium Development Programs?
It’s a program to make our country better, and everyone should just go out there, and devote a little bit time out of their schedule to do something towards taking our country to a level above.
Other than hosting a show like Mission Ustaad, what other ways you believe you might be able to help towards the Millennium Program?
Not just me, but everyone can make a difference by altering our lives just a little bit. A little change in our environment, can actually do wonders. I understand that we all are pretty tied up with our own schedules, so if one doesn’t have time, they can may be support an NGO, and I would probably do that.
What's the one element that made you opt for a show like such?
It’s the social cause, and plus I wanted to break thru the image I had portrayed before on Television.
A message to your fans, with regards to the Millennium Development Program?
I always have a message in the end of the show, and I would like to carry forward that here as well, people, lets try to do a little bit for our country. Our country needs us, and its important for us to stop complaining and start asking the question - How can I get in and help? And once you have the answer, just go for it.
